Hello my fellow Korg friends.
I am not sure if this topic ever discuss it here, but here it is:
Did any body try to use blue tooth transmitter and receiver as a monitor trough headphone jack or any other way to play live?
I am thinking about it but I'm worry about latency, and not sure if it will work. It my be stupid but...
Please give your input.
JP

I tried it ,ok for playing MP3s but definitely too much latency to play the keyboard-Terry

Hi,

if you use aptx-low-latency bluetooth devices it´s more or less no problem ( 30 - 40 ms latency ).

But BOTH devices ( transmitter AND receiver ) have to work in aptx-ll-mode

I concur with previous replies: Bluetooth latency is a significant issue. I found it unacceptable for playing. Even the ~40 ms of low latency standards.

Simon.

Anything above 9-12 ms is useless for real time performance.

Hi all,

Wondering if there have been any technical developments since this was posted nearly 3 years ago. Would interest me if the latency issue has been resolved now,

Phil

A digital wireless audio system has minimal latency due to error checking, it is not usable for live performances. If you want to transmit audio wirelessly you have to use high quality analog systems, with virtually no latency.

I’m a little confused…

You are standing right next to your keyboard, playing it. Why do you need an unwired solution to hearing it?

Korghelper,

A good question.

It is because I play in a band and have recently discovered that I am slightly deaf in one ear. The hearing aid earpiece is Bluetooth connectable with good quality music reproduction. It would reduce the ambient sound, and allow a controllable feed from my Pa4X to that ear.

I could achieve the same thing with a wired earpiece, but then there is the annoying wire that gets in the way when you play.

Unless you are dancing away from the keyboard, a small headphone extension cord from the keyboard to your belt, and then run your in-ears down through your shirt to your belt keeps all wiring well away from your playing hands...

I have played for years like this in louder bands, never felt it interfered. You just have to remember to unhook the umbilical before you step away!

Bluetooth is a packet protocol and whatever would be the latency in the future , it will be never suitable for real time audio transmission.

Wireless VHF/UHF FM/Digital or latest Spread Spectrum Modulation transmission systems will be always the one way option for realtime transmission
of audio & video for professional use.

High quality wireless audio transmission is always useful for gigging according to circumstances of stage demands ,
I sometimes send master outputs of my mixer this way to stage console due to avoid wiring traveling on stage !
