|
|
Hello,
Just wondering if it is at all possible to use a usb drive instead of an external cd/dvd drive to restore the kronos. Would it work if I created ISO images and put them on the drive? Anyone ever try this?
I accidentally wiped out pianos and other sounds not knowing how to properly install new sounds. Now I have a bunch of 90s style pianos instead of the ones that it comes with built in the kronos 2.
thanks! _________________ Korg Wavestation EX. Nord Lead 2X anniversary. Kronos 2 88. Korg Minilogue. Microkorg XL. Roland MC-707

Unfortunately it won't.
The Kronos needs to boot from a dvd to do a restore with a compatable player (not all brands work).
If the orginal dvd disks aren't available,it's possible to create your own.
The downloadble data is on the Korg website.
Do make sure to use double layer dvd disks.
Check the Kronos factory folder to see if the original data is still there...?? |

you should check your factory PCG file to see if its still there. I always thought it was not easy to completely wipe your SSD accidentally. Even if you over write some programs, I thought they should still reside in the PCG folder.
Then its a simple matter of digging up the Programs, and reseaving them.
Anyway, you should always keep a current PCG on your USB. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

You can't delete manually factory resources , you have just deleted references to K2 samples & PCG that you
can easily reload from HD or factory DVD that came with Kronos in a folder called "Factory" and the files you need
are Preload.KSC & Factory/Preload.PCG
You will use DVD resources only in case of SSD & system failure , and Yes I had made virtual USB DVDs before
6 years (written in an old post here) but this needed manual programming that I don't remember anymore
since I always clone boot SSD for all of my Kronos models !
Hope this helps _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Search in Kronos HD contents , do you see the folder "Factory" there ?
If Yes open file , find file PRELOAD.PCG and just load it !
This will recover all factory Programs & Combinations ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Okay, so I looked at the official patch list, and I have everything, except for one entire bank. Bank USER-E is duplicated with Bank USER-A. After comparing with the voice name list from korg's manual, BANK USER-E is missing for me. The names do not coincide with what its supposed to be according to the manual.
Is there way restore that too without the CDs? _________________ Korg Wavestation EX. Nord Lead 2X anniversary. Kronos 2 88. Korg Minilogue. Microkorg XL. Roland MC-707
