Hello I'm John,
I have been a lurker here for some time. Now I am happy to be a proper member. I am about to upgrade my ancient home studio to a Pa4X, an Apple iMac, with Pro Tools software and interface. I am very much looking forward to being involved with the Korg Forum.

Hi, John.
Watch out for that Apple. iTunes has been known to unilaterally delete files for poorly understood reasons. (Apple's claims on the topic do not adequately explain observed phenomena in the field.)
Please, please, please. If you use an Apple for music, be positively obsessive about your backups. I just spent a large chunk of my week helping a friend of mine recover from just such a disaster. Mercifully, at my insistence she had kept backups, and I could use them to restore most of what Apple decided that she didn't really need. She doesn't happen to be a composer, so she just lost files that, in the worst case, could have been re-ripped from elsewhere (no, they were not iTunes purchases, simple CD rips). For a composer, this is a nightmare scenario.
Incidentally, she is highly, highly unlikely to ever buy any Apple product ever again. No iPhone, no iPod, no iMac, no Apple computers at all. She bought a new computer and is transferring everything possible there.
From Dell.
Running Ubuntu.
Not saying you have to ditch your Apple, just PLEASE keep your backups. External drives are not that expensive. |

Greetings.
Not sure about Apple issues mentioned above. I have had an iMac for about five years and it is an absolute joy to use compared to my Windoze PCs that generally drive me nuts (even more so since the WIN10 upgrades). _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer

Hi Folks. New member here from Canada.
Just got a Korg TR-88 (used, equivalent to Triton LE). Never had a synth before. Felt it was time to change that.
Went used for budget reasons, but would LOVE to own a Kronos.
