I'm trying to update my Kronos to 3.1.2 and the download automatically unzips on my Mac, but when I copy all folders to flash drive and insert in Kronos, it won't update. There's a tar.gz file within the unzipped folder that I can't extract. I suspect that's where the update files are. I get an error every time I click on it. Help! |

I'm not a Mac guy, but I can tell you when up-dating the OS, follow the instructions EXACTLY. Try re-formatting your stick drive and/or use a different one. good luck. _________________ Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s. |

I reformatted the thumb drive in the kronos to FAT 32 (just in case it wasn't already that)-- still no dice. When I run it on the kronos, it says an error has occurred. I think if I could unzip the tar.gz folder on my mac, and actually drag the folders onto the thumb drive and not the "zip" of them, it would work. Unfortunately, nobody picks up the phone at korg, and I sent an email but the response can be 2-3 days. |

The only folders and files that should be present in the root of the USB memory stick are as follows:
[]Manuals
[]mnt
-bc
-DisplayUpdaterMessage
-install.info
-KRONOS_Update_3_1_2.csum
-KRONOS_Update_3_1_2.tar.gz
-md5sum
-posttar.sh
-pretar.sh
Where:
[]=folder
- =file
The files and folders should be left as they are after the extraction of the file downloaded from the Korg website. There should be no other files or folders. The tarball archive needs to be left as is, and not extracted. It is ~130MB in size.

Ok. I did that. Dragged the whole thing intact onto the usb stick and still no dice. I re-formatted the stick beforehand in the kronos slot. |

There are about +100 topics on trouble shooting the Update process if you want to google for them
1 idea is that you have a flawed D/L from the Korg site. Its easy to stall out a D/L. I would try a new D/L
Voip noted your files have to be at the top level, or root _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8
