I personally don't think there will be another OS update. _________________ K2 Kronos 88, Mojo 61, Korg CX3, Roland FANTOM 7 |

I have offered my 2 cents that Kronos is at EOL for some months here.
Since Korg does not discuss or even hint at W/s plans we are stuck guessing.
So no one 'knows ' anything about Korgs plans. Since we don't work for Korg.
But yes, if you look at the facts, no more updates should be expected for our 7 year old Kronos'.
7 yrs is a great product run, in todays tech turbulent device world. No more updates does not prevent us from making great music with our K's. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

There was a bug topic a few months ago, and Dan Phillips, a member of Korg design team, known as Danatkorg here, told us that he could reproduce the bug, and that he would make sure that they will address this issue in the next update. _________________ Korg KronosX73, Kurzweil PC3K6, Roland V-Synth GT, Kawai K5000S, Waldorf Blofeld, Novation Ultranova, Behringer Neutron, Yamaha HS80M, Boss Micro BR80, Zoom H6, Sony PCM D100, Tascam DP32SD, Mackie 1202VLZ4, Zoom MS-70CDR, Rode NT1, Sony MDR 7506. |

On NAMM 2018 Nick Kwas said in a video: "Kronos software is continually being developed, were going to continue release firmwareupdates" _________________ Korg Kronos 2 88 ; The River ; Cubase 10.5 Pro ; PC Win 10 |

I am glad you found that topic. I forgot about that LFO bug.
And Dan suggests, we should report bugs to our local distributor. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

from where I sit, seeing is believing. Over 13 months.
To be more clear, us Kronos owners want new features in an update.
Looking at the NAMM 2018 videos w/ Nick Kwas, he and Korg, are focused on new products , Prologue and the Volca line up. I have not found the video where he made a Kronos comment.
To be fair thats the purpose of NAMM, the new, not the old. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I probably side with Greg's view on this one, as it has gone quiet for a long time now compared to about half a dozen updates in the first two years of my Kronos ownership (which started in 2014).
The flexibility/architecture of the Kronos means updates are easier copared to a more hardware oriented synth. It would be nice to see some extra sound engines making it into the Kronos. I'd even be happy to pay for such an upgrade.
So assume the worst, and you may pleasantly surprised if Korg do an update.
In the meantime we have an amazing synth to play with. _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer

Maybe the fact that there was no updates for a long time can be a hint for a new generation flagship workstation from Korg in the near future\next year.
What do you think? |
