Based on Wikipedia. You know how they say with age comes wisdom, maybe the opinion we share is that Korg is a better synth maker, maybe it's true because Korg has more years on the ball. What I'm saying is I think Korg is a tight synth producer. I like their sounds and all. Roland still has it tho. I like Roland too.

Thats a generalization. Corporations are not people.
Cos in electronics go thru management changes, transitions, re-orgs. Roland went thru that a few yrs ago.
Korgs founder passed away a few yrs ago . They have a new President. If you follow Korg closely, they became a different co. Change is not necessarily bad, but Korgs priorities did change. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

But the way I see it is intellectual property remains the same. |

"Intellectual property refers to creations of the mind: inventions; literary and artistic works; and symbols, names and images used in commerce. Intellectual property is divided into two categories:
Industrial Property includes patents for inventions, trademarks, industrial designs and geographical indications.
Copyright covers literary works (such as novels, poems and plays), films, music, artistic works
(e.g., drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures)"
Unclear where you are going. Are you looking for list or some kind of report
where Korg has developed IP ?
Without more detail, its hard to evaluate if the IP has or still has commercial value. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Of course there is the old adage that perfection builds on the mistakes of others
But seriously, I wouldn't deduce simply just because Korg have been around longer that they are more experienced as a whole. Too generalised for me. The line is blurred in commerce where companies attract expertise from other companies which have the knowledge they wish to take onboard in a new area to be developed. How many companies takeover smaller companies which already develop and market a product or technology the parent wish to include in their line? Many times have we seen notable individuals who appear to be the golden person of a corporation, suddenly pop up in a rival corporation.....
It's just one big corporate soup out there! _________________ The companions I can't live without: Kawai Acoustic Grand, Kawai MP11SE, Yamaha Montage8, Korg D1

Agreed. And look at Apple and numerous other tech cos.
We can read up on Steve Jobs.
They have a business model based on creative destruction. New products might trash old tech, making it obsolete. I would theorize that process puts the knife
into much IP or marginalizes it.
I imagine some IP is timeless but we are talking Korg. I suppose they hold many patents over the decades as they should.
Its a standard business practice that IP has to be protected from hungry competitors or pirates. My take is we have little to work with to determine
if the outstanding IP has current business value today. I am not especially curious , however. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

LOL.
Its not about korg.
The O/p is trying to flatter me. He said
"You know how they say with age comes wisdom,"
Since I appear to be the top geezer here, theoretically I should be the top wise guy.
I know, someone is stretching the truth here

thats not too bad. There is wisdom in forgetting bad details.
Its worse when a person thinks they know their stuff
then they blunder along, blaming unforeseen circumstances.
Instead of owning up to it, they continue as if.
But I am never like that. Just making an example _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8
