Hi all

My Korg Kronos 2 (61 Key, v3.2.1) has been getting the "System startup failed, please remove USB and try again" message about every 6th startup.

I opened it up tonight to see if it was there was issue with the ram being unseated. It had a single 4gb ram, that seemed to be inserted fine. I took it out anyway and placed it in the other open slot, and to my surprise I now receive "System has failed to startup" every single time!

So, I opened it up again, moved it back, and it started up fine. I haven't received the error message yet, but I don't have too much hope as nothing changed.

Why would moving the 4gb ram to the other slot make it fail every time? And does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks!!

Pre-owned, immaculate condition, and bought recently. It's within warranty so I know I'll likely be shipping it back for a replacement.

I guess you are saying you bought it used from a retailer within the past 30 days . And you have return/refund privilege ? I can't tell from your post.

BTW, you can't go by ' looks '. Thats cosmetic. Its all about whats inside.

Given what you are reporting, I would not hesitate to bring it back. I wouldn't fool around with it and try DIY. By messing around with the inside , you could risk getting a free or equitable replacement.

It appears to me , you have a problem used Kronos. If so, I would be quite annoyed at the retailer for fobbing it off on you.

I had the same problem and I replaced the SSD. That solved the problem.

Thats good info.

Did your local Korg service center ( or SW service if purchased in US from them)
diagnose the issue as a bum SSD ?
