Don't make your dreams become hard work, if you grasp to hard, they will slip from your grasp, if you fight to hard, you will tire and drown. The dream doesn't die when you stop trying, it dies when you stop imagining it.

I like your post. This author is on the side of doing 'hard work' .
You gave a logical and wise counterpoint.

I like articles like this because they push me. And I often find some disagreement. Here is one:

"You do the right things — the things you’ve been told to do since you were born. You go to school and get good grades. Then you find a nice job,etc etc... and do this every year until you retire.
Many people in the self-help/entrepreneurship space deride the normal world. They call people “sheeples” because they feel those who follow a typical path are somehow less than. They see them as followers, helpless, and mediocre.
I don’t think that at all. The normal world has lots of amazing benefits."

The author says the right thing here. I know all about the conventional world- i forced myself into it for +40 yrs. Every day, I was the fish out of water.

I call the conventional paths ' following the herd'. Doing what is somewhat safe and popular. And expected.

Not wanting to rile anyone- what are more conventional examples of being a keyboardist ? from training to tackling the business side ?
And is that satisfying ?

I agree. Both sides are relevant. I know a so called successful artists and he says 'I got lucky'.

He did but he worked very hard to 'get lucky'.

Dreams are short-lived, only work gives results that live long. Reverie, meanwhile, makes us forget for a moment, just a little moment, that we have still to work hard for our music to live. And sometimes I also like to grow old in my bed ! Very Happy

There isn't enough room for everybody to fulfil their dreams. Who dreams of being a cleaner or road sweeper. But there is room for everybody to support each other, respect and embrace some old fashioned values like, gratitude, acceptance and contentment.
We are all connected, as brothers and sisters.

We are lucky. We can express ourselves with music. What a blessing.

That's my dream Shocked

Often said, our art is a reward in itself.

The author of this article said something I liked in another of his articles.

There is no shortage of consumers in our world. But folks that are gifted and creative are a rare commodity.
