In a typical Windows apps, you can hit the Tab key to cycle through the various data entry controls. That's the functionality I'm looking for but can't find in the Kronos UI.

In Kronos, using the Sequencer play page as an example, I find I have to tap each control to give it focus. What I'm looking for is something that would allow me to, say, "tab" across the channels. For example, if I have the program selected for channel 1 and I wanted to go to channel 3, I'd hit the "tab" control twice and I'd then be on the program field for channel 3.

Is there a control or setting somewhere that would allow me to cycle through fields like this rather than having to tap to focus?

Thanks,

1) Mix /play/mute button while Timber Track light is in will enable moving from 1 channel to the next.

I suspect you want more Windows type tab function than that. Which the old UI touch screen does not have.

Thanks, Greg. It's important to know what reality is. Or so they told me in the 70s...

Is there a section in the manual that covers the details of UI stuff like this? I haven't come across it yet.

glad to help, Chris. Guess we are in the same demographic.

I prefer the Korg instructional YouTubes for the Kronos. 6 of them, I recall.

You might need navigation and the modes, like for the SEQ.

The file system, navigation, tech screen has little resemblance to whatever Windows you are used to. All this stuff is dated + bolted on over the years.

But its still very useable and it gets comfortable with muscle memory.

Not sure what your plans are, but you should get a very good result.

I watched the video manual stuff while I was waiting for the Kronos to arrive, they were nicely done. I'll have to give them another look now that I actually have hands on keys.

Probably the best hardware screen I've seen is the Yamaha TF5 mixer. It looks like they hired Apple to write it. While the Kronos isn't quite that good, it's still well designed and easy to use. Like you say, I just need to develop the muscle memory.

I don't play professionally anymore so my plans are modest. Just have fun writing, recording and being a studio rat. Traditionally I've been guitar / vocals / front but I've grown bored with what I write on guitar and have switched to keys for new inspiration. Regarding Kronos and inspiration all I can really say is... holy crap. Smile
