So I am trying to get rid of this noise (sorta like the thump noise of a hammer returning) in this case the factory Jazz Piano, but I went through all 18 oscillators and could not remove it, any ideas anyone?
I hope it is NOT in the underlying base sample, that would be annoying! haha |

Hey m8
I know some of the factory pianos have hammer and damper noise but it's very quiet.
I'll check (Jazz Piano) tonight and see if it is the same on my PA4X

Had a spare moment and tried it - YES - the Jazz Piano does have the authentic "acoustic piano mechanics sounds" (what I call it!!!)
Don't know how or where within the sound configuration you can remove this.
Maybe our Mr Sharmann can advise?

Nope ... you have to find 8 up to 10 OSCs of 18 , that produce mechanical FX and reduce their gain !
The right procedure is to select from upper screen menu "solo OSC" , and check one by one all OSCs
while playing on keybed and pedal , find pedals on-off , Key-on & off , hammer and hammers release FX
all -L & -R and reduce their gain at plus -10 db , names of used factory MS will help you further.

| Yep, already did that Antony - turned them all off in fact. Thump noise is still there (it's also in a couple of the other pianos as well - factory ones) |

Thump noise of a hammer returning is an extra OSC with Key-off function that you have missed ,
If I'll find some free time I will check Sound to help you !

The only somehow acceptable Pa4X factory jazz piano is Italian Jazz piano !
I have removed all hammer/pedal FX and you can download it from HERE
Open SET/SOUND/ and load sound in any vacant possition of your user sounds.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. I do like the C7, but it's out of my budget sadly ($250 out here). Good programming though 
FWIW, I agree, the only half-way decent factory piano is the Italian and Italian Jazz. The rest just have way to much "mud" in the C1 to G3 range. Even the Italian has it, but not to the same degree, imho of course

Dennis,
I use the factory Piano and EPs all the time. Huge improvement over those dreadful plastic sounding Pa2x/Pa800 Pianos for sure. Of course they don't sound anything like Spectrasonics 60 gig Keyscape. I haven't got a chance to play the Genos yet.

I noticed this problem when I first got my PA4X and never could resolve it, it's really annoying and strangely even louder when triggered from my master keyboard via midi making them unuseable.

A quick and dirty Piano demo based on John's Salamander Piano samples. I only used the first 3 piano presets, though there are some good EPs in there as well. John's SoundCloud recordings are WAY better. I'm just having fun with the presets so pardon the wrong notes!
