Kronos works fine without the expression pedal. Plugging it in sets the volume (or pan, or whatever it's assigned to) to 25, no higher.

Thoughts?

Are you using a “stereo” cable aka tip, ring, sleeve.

Yes, and the cable tests correctly. I tested the pedal, it shows that it's a 100k linear pot. I tested the keyboard with a 100k linear pot hooked up to a TRS cable also - same result.

When doing the test with a 100k pot, which potentiometer terminals went to the tip, ring and sleeve on the TRS cable?

What happens when the TRS cable is plugged into the Kronos on its own i.e. nothing else connected?
