Today ,i took out of the closet my Triton Extreme76 .
It needed a battery replacement, and after that i was just testing to see if everything worked ok or not,in order to give it to a famous rock band coming in town on Friday, and they need an instrument like that.

While i was fooling around with the keyboard,my wife entered the room and she asked me :
Is it my idea,or this instrument sounds greater than the other you usually play with ? ( she meant pa4x)

That means a lot folks, .....even someone who is not evolved with it,can understand the difference between them.....15years or more between those instruments, and yet....triton extreme still sounds greater than pa4x,this feeling of a live sound, the effects have way more depth in them....the sounds and rythm/arpeg sounds more natural and closest to a normal Today's production project .

That 's what a Pa4x should be at first place....a triton extreme +arranger.

I used to have the Triton Studio 76 keys and sold it for almost nothing as I just didn't have any room for it. I wouldn't say it sounded better than the Pa series, but it was just a whole different animal. That was the last hardware sequencer that I used before making a full transition to DAW. I even had the expansions and all that. Sad

Sam, the only reason i didn't sell it till now ,is that i was using it till last year for everyday's midnigh't gigs ,while i was using the pa800 or pa4x for small gigs without a band.

I will at least try to sell it last, cause i still own an XP80,a Fantomx7 and some others.....

Hi Korg1:

I must agree with Sam CA, TRITON doesn't sound better than PA.- Samples on PA4x sounds better and more natural than TRITON. Long time ago, i've TRITON Extreme 88, but when Korg introduces M3 i go for it till Kronos appears on the market.- I must agree that any comparission between TRITON and PA4x it's not fair. The main reason is that TRITON is basically a synthesizer workstation meanwhile PA4x is an Arranger with some synthesizer and sequencer capabilities, but it's not a workstation.
Said this, sound perception is a personal taste.- My own till today have's a Roland 2080, which for me, have the best grand piano sound. Perhaps this perception becomes from the diferent audio quality outputs.- As an example, Roland have more deep sounding (lower notes) than others brand.-
But for gigging the best keyboard is that one that provides the more flexibility; today is a madnes have on a gig multiple racks with sound modules.- I've have the actually both Korg flagship (Kronos 2 and Pa4x), and this is enough for any situation: one man band or playing with your band.-
Just an opinion.-
With regards
Eduardo

Eduardo , i know what you mean about Roland....just imagine if your 2080 had those 40effects that xv5080 or SC-88Pro had....how even greater it would sound.

What i want to say is that i agree that triton's sounds are not really better than pa4x' ,they use 2 Osc's while you can use over 25 on Pa's ,but with all these effects Triton Extreme has that you can use in many ways,in program or combi mode, the result is great.

Better outputs too? -Sure
valve? -that too

It just gives the feeling of a Professional live sound out of the box while Pa4x lacks on that.

I do agree though that Pa is enough for any situation......quite some levels still behind Triton Extreme or studio though.
As Vex says,it's a mission impossible when triton uses moss.....
Not even a 2GB update could change that....
