|
|
Hello
I read Pa4x user guide and saw this keyboard has a function named "lower backing". In conjunction with "manual bass it seems that it enables to play bass note and chord at the same time. (PA4x plays bass note for the lower finger and chord with remaining notes)
Do you know if there is a way to do it with kronos ?
If not , is it possible with karma ? Do we need karma software ?

Interesting, you want it so when you hit a chord it plays a bass just for the lowest note? So say you hit a Cmaj triad... you want a bass guitar to play C and then some other timbre, like a piano, to play E and G?
You could have one KARMA module trigger the piano playing the first two notes of first inversion. Simultaneously a second module can trigger the bass and just play the first note of the chord. So yeah that actually is possible, but setting it up will be tricky. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro |

Hello Charles
Yes it's exactly what I want to realize.
So you think I must go with Karma.
Do you think I need karma software or it can be realize directly on Kronos ? |

You should be able to do that right on the Kronos itself. Of course I can’t be 100% sure unless I were to actually try it. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro |

Went ahead and tried it out. This explanation is going to be way too technical but I just wanted to show that I did get it to work on the Kronos itself.
I used GE0002 Arp Model 03 Up for modules A and B
Modules A and B are set to control the necessary timbres. In your case a bass guitar controlled by module A and a piano for module B.
I set Clock advance to Dyn for both modules. You might as well set the size to an eighth note for module B while on this page.
Set Chord Trigger mode to 1st for both. Put Velocity Sense Bottom down to 1 to retain the dynamics of your playing.
Over in GE RTP Scenes decouple module B parameter 8 Note Series Inversion from SW3. Set the Value to 1. This sets the series to first inversion.
Take off CC-A for both modules in the MIDI Filter tab. This stops the notes from being panned left.
Now when you play triads the bottom note will be triggered by module A and the next two notes by module B. You might want to set your tempo down to 40 to lengthen the time the notes sustain. Anything more sophisticated than that would require a custom GE. Again the purpose was to show that you could demonstrate this behavior on the Kronos itself even if it's not ideal since you're stuck with basic triads and a sixteenth note of sustain. The KARMA software would give you much more control over creating a custom GE that would suit your needs. In fact I would go about this a completely different way while making a custom GE. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro |

Thank you very much !
It was important for me to know that solutions could be find with kronos
I will try when I will be back to home.
About karma software : it must be the solution for different topics I have in mind. But I am afraid by its complexity |
