Hello,
Just another couple of things to be considered for the replacement for the PA4X.
1.Faster processor- takes much longer to boot up than the Genos !.and also improved polyphony.
2.The music stand can only be used if you buy the PA soundbar as it clips onto the soundbar fittings. So if you want the 4X to use with separate powered speakers, you cannot use the music stand. That is very poor and needs addressing.
Thanks,
Derek Bradburn.

If you check out the quick start manual P.150 you will see the instructions (Assembling the music stand without the amplification bar installed) also if you look at "Sticky: WHISH-LIST for FUTURE arranger models (Hardware)" you cant read some of your points you mention that cover polyphony there .....hope that helps

Hi Derek

Yes, as D575 suggests, using the two sticky topics above are the preferred place for "wishes".

I am a little puzzled by the boot time request - my PA4X takes around a minute to boot, my Casio takes about 15 seconds - I don't know how long the Genos takes but we are not comparing apples with apples. I remember the Yamaha (my Tyros) booting faster but basically it would let you "use" it whilst it was still loading samples and things in the background - I found that quite useless really, particularly when performing, as you never knew when it was REALLY ready Confused Genos is Tyros 6 so I wonder if it does the same - Yamaha didn't change a whole lot.

As for polyphony - can I respectfully ask what you personally need more than 256 for - just curious?

Cheers

Isn't it 128 for the PA4 Pete? It it's 256 then there is an awful lot of note stealing going on Wink

Hi Dennis

Sorry - the PA4X manual specs "Polyphony 128 voices, 128 oscillators" always gets me!!!!
Not had polyphony issues yet
Give me an example please when that happens to you...
Cheers

Style Snow Pop comes to mind - have a strings patch on the lower, ac piano on upper one then use style on var 3 or 4 while playing some chords on the piano Wink
