i am new to posting and joining the forum.
but i have used it as a reference manual on the out of the blue things that can go haywire as a korg krome owner/user.
i load and reload programs and combinations frequently, when i load a new bank f bank everything is as it should be.
when i powerdown and quit, after power on and bootup, i go to prg or combis and the sound is not exactly the same. i dont know how to describe it other than its lacking depth texture and the effects used per patch are just a tad bit out of wack.
any of you sages got any idea what the hay-hay is going on?
thanks kevin

i see several views of my post.
with zero ideas.
i imagine there are at least, several krome users that have the same thing happening and i would like to hear from them and maybe what steps they use when loading, saving, and editing commercial sound packs.
thanks. kevin

Very simple, read the manual Krome Operation Guide.
Quote:
Introduction to the KROME page12
Writing/saving
After editing, you should write or save your changes as
necessary.
For example if you’ve edited a program, your changes
will be lost if you select another program or turn off
the power. The same applies to a combination.
Settings you edit in Global mode and songs will be
remembered as long as the power is on, but your
changes will be lost when you turn off the power,
unless you write these changes into memory.

• You can write or save by pressing the WRITE
button twice.
For more details on the Write operations, see the
following pages.
• Programs → p.30
etc.

Goto www.kromeheaven.com for fun.

i do save in global and follow prodedures in the manual.
appreciate your response.
i know that the sound packs when i load them they are auditioned from the pcgs i load onto a sdhc card, one at a time.
if i can use it for something i am composing, i make a note of its location number and name.
i then go to pcg tools and add it to either bank d for programs, and or if it is a combination i load the base programs with pcg tools and add the combi.
when i load the edited file into the krome it is fine.
everything is like the audition, when i power down and turn it on for the next session the same programs and combinations have changed in their depth and effects.
i guess i will just reload them each time i turn on the keyboard.
you dont think it has anything to do with the internal memory card needing to be replaced do you?

thanks for your help, kevin

No, nothing wrong with internal memory card.

I only hear you about (re)loading and saving in global, but never about actual Write Program or Write Combination into internal memory.
Read the manual page 115:
Quote:
Writing to internal memory...
Writing (saving) procedure
The Program and Combination settings you’ve made
in the various editing pages can be saved to internal
memory. This action is referred to as “writing a
program” or “writing a Combination.” If you want
your edited data to be preserved after the power is
turned off, you must perform a Write operation.
There are two ways to write a Program or
Combination.
• Use the WRITE button.
• Use the Write Program or Write Combination
menu commands in the upper right of the display.
Before you can write data into memory, you must
turn off the memory protect setting in Global
mode.
For details, please see “Memory protect” on
page 117. ...etc
