In Program mode? That uses global midi. You can look in global mode for what you need. There is no Off setting for global midi channel settings.
You could use midi filters which global does have and so does Karma.
But Karma in Program mode, does not have Midi I/O utility.
Even with midi filters, you may not find the right filters you need.
It all depends on what midi messages you are trying to Not receive.
If all midi messages cut from reception, is what you need, then global channel change to derail the messages to an unused channel.
My real answer is Combi mode or Sequencer mode. 💫🎉
Simply putting the program to a Combi and using Combi midi features to handle midi function over a program. You can even be in Combi mode and a selected Program in Program mode at the same time if you need real time access to the Program’s on screen Utility. Just set the program up in Combi amd then go to drop down menu and fond “edit Program”. You will open to program mode in the program slot and still be functionally in Combi mode while working a program mode screen.
In Combi, you can decide midi channel per each track, independent of Global mode settings. You can also use Timbre midi filters.
Also you can set up Karma midi I/O to bypass all the midi channel set up of Combi and use Karma to turn on or off midi reception. Also Karma has midi filters available when using it and its midi I/O setup.
All your real options and flexibility, are in Combi or sequencer mode.
Combi or sequencer become whatever program or programs you put to them and they take it from there to a whole new world of midi work and other utility not found in Program mode. |

Try GLOBAL -- MIDI -- MIDI FILTER.
EDIT: 19naia beat me too it. |

Thankyou for your quick replies
I have been using the combi workaround and the changing channels in program mode option. It seems this is the only solution? _________________ Kurzweil K2700, Korg Nautilus 61, Yamaha MODX6

Like I said, use the GLOBAL MIDI Filter. You can turn off Control Changes, Program Changes, etc.
I guess it would help us to know what MIDI messages you are trying to avoid. Need more info.
Also, in Sequence mode (which is where I work), you can set transmission to internal sounds, external sounds, or both. |

I do use the above methods. I just sometimes need programs not to sound at all and was wondering if there was a simple on off toggle in program mode
I’m happy to continue working as I am
Thanks again _________________ Kurzweil K2700, Korg Nautilus 61, Yamaha MODX6
