I have installed Omnisphere in my self made AUMS-2 workstation, and as Kronos can act as a sound card, it can easily be integrated via usb and combined with AUMS2. Works like a charm. (Search on youtube Aums-2).
To me, Kronos, thanks to Mod7 synth and other 8 engines, can create even more complex sounds than sample-based OMNISPHERE. _________________ Current hardware: Kronos-1 61+1GB RAM+2nd HDD 320 Gb, Triton Extreme 76+MOSS+RAM+dual microSD to CF adapter+64 Gb microSD card, Roland GW7, Casio WK-3300, Casio CTK-631, Farfisa child synth, laptop HP Envy dv7 16Gb ram, Core-i7, 128 SSD+720 GB HDD, E-MU 0202 USB Audio Interface.

This synth is designed so smart, and it integrates both my other Spectrasonics libraries and some of my hardware synths so well! Lots of great patches, and endless possibilities!
But as Qui put it: a Kronos still is overwhelming good as well, and the best live keyboard on the market from my view up to now. |
Yes, Kronos as a stand alone is still the best live keyboard on the market..
But as soon as you start using the kronos in combination with vst’s/daws like omnisphere inside ableton live, i think the Yamaha Montage as of OS2.5 has more to offer..
From the feedback of real encoders and sliders, to the very nice implemented daw controll and arps+motion sequences comes close to karma.
Best part however is that the interface works much easier in a live situation, where the kronos touchscreen is often to small to make real time adjustments..
And offcourse there is the audio interface over usb, which works flawlessly and makes all those great vst’s feel like an integral part of the montage..
Next to that, using live makes a much better tool for backings then the kronos sequencer... _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

I am really pleased with my new rig of Kronos X61, Montage 7, Nord G2 Engine and an NUC PC which allows my to run Omnisphere, DIVA, ZEBRA, etc. with plenty of head room even in DIVA's "Divine mode". That is one serious amount of sonic horse power, and plenty of layering permutations. _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer

Not mine A Skull Candy Intel Core i7 Quad Core 3.5GHz, 32 GB RAM. 512GB SSD. This thing flies and is only a little less powerful than my main DAW PC, but all in the size of a paperback book _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer
