I’m still trying to learn how to program this Beast of-a-keyboard. So much to Learn.

After initializing an EXi program, I may choose for the EXI1 instrument type as “AL-1 Analog Synthesizer” and the initial tone/patch seems to always default to a bad “Jump’ish” type of brass sound.(haha)

My question: besides always starting with the ‘jump’ish brass sound’ (for the AL-1 Analog Synthesizer), is there a way to access a list of AL-1 Analog Synthesizer tones already pre-programmed to choose as the initial default tone? To be able to do this would definitely speed up the process of programming an init program from scratch.

You could also start with an existing EXi program after saving elsewhere in an EXi bank. You also have the "Copy EXi oscillator function" which can help you save time.

you get a jump-ish tone??

...that does not sound normal.

The init sound should just be two phase aligned saws going through a 2-pole LPF.

phase aligned not detuned. The amp would also need a bit of release to be more like Jump. There's probably a Jump synth somewhere in the Kronos factory patches that you could study to see just how different it is from an init AL-1 patch, Sweat.

But yeah, engineerjoel, I've done what KK suggested. Simply modify an init AL-1 patch with the amp sustain up, no release and the drive circuit bypassed. I'd also turn down oscillator 2 and switch both oscillators to saws instead of saw/squares. I sometimes still use my init AL-1 patch as a starting point but it's not that much different from the default init. When making vids I start with the default init since that's easier for everyone else.
