I've just purchased (and used) a USB-Ethernet adaptor so I can connect to Korg's FTP site. All I get is a "Cord Unplugged" error no matter how I connect to my network. What gives?

Try to create a new location in Network Preferences and then try connecting it again.

Hi,

You don't give many details on what you've tried. Have you setup matching IP addresses on the computer newtwork adapter you are using and the Kronos

Have you setup user name and password?

How are you trying to connect? Windows Explorer or an FTP program (I use FileZilla)

Hi folks...sorry for the vague question. In my defence it was vague because I haven’t a clue where to start.

In these circumstances I am a true newb. So far as name and pass word are concerned I have just accepted the defaults as offered by Korg (presumably connecting to their FTP site). I don’t know what other tricks to try, stymied, I guess, by the statement that the cord is disconnected. I don’t see how attempting a manual connection will help in face of the fact that the route to do so - the cord - is apparently not doing its job...but I will try any suggestion.

Thank you for your patience.

Pretty good thread, here:

Just to sum up:
Kronos ethernet cord connected to a router.
Something like Filezilla or Windows Explorer to connect to destination.

Are you using Apple USB Ethernet Adapter or 3rd party ?
Apple USB Ethernet Adapter should be detected automatically.
If you have 3rd party, adapters based on the AX88179 chipset ( like Cable Matters, j5 Create) are not supported “out of box” by macOS. In that case you need a driver ( https://www.asix.com.tw/FrootAttach/driver/AX88179_178A_macintosh_Driver_Installer_v2.13.0.zip )
