Hello guys Rolling Eyes

I've a korg T3 and today I discovered that its battery was death.
I just replaced it and then all the data that was provided by the Korg by default was lost.
So I tried to came up to this problem by using the original floppy disk with all sounds into but I just didn't find it anywhere.
So since my laptop has a floppy drive, is there a way to recover all my previous data in order to re-register them in my Korg T3?
If yes, how can I?

Thanks Smile

Hi.
Thanks for you reply.

I tried to get more informations about that (since I don't understand how to use all the files listed there) and someone in this forum in another topic was telling that the files listed there are just headers (which means are not the stuffs I'm looking for?)

Moreover I don't know how to apply them to the T3 (I heard I should use an usb-midi adapter from PC to the T3 and then I should use a specific software to move syx files to the T3)

Is this all right?

Thanks for the links!

I read that topic and I downloaded the files suggested there.

By the way, the guy who asked for that said there is something missing (Piano sound?) and then there aren't further informations about how to recover that.

I really didn't understand if the piano sound is missing just for other korgs and not for the T3 one, so if it is, now the question is how I can recover that using a computer and a floppy drive?

You're welcome.

The T1 came from the factory with memory to load samples. The original T2 and T3 didn't have that memory, but a kit was available to upgrade those models. Later the T2EX and T3EX were sold with the memory factory installed. Any T-series model with that "PCM memory" can load the PCM Piano multisample.

Before I discuss how to create a disk - does your T3 have PCM memory?

Those functions can only be selected if the T3 has PCM RAM. If you can select them, try the following.

This isn't documented, and I'm not sure if it works with all ROM versions...
This tests the PCM RAM and MIDI:
Connect MIDI-Out to MIDI-In.
Turn on T3 power while holding down PROG B and 0(Fine) buttons.

What's the result?

At the moment I don't have a midi cable 5-pin so I'm unable to experience this test. As soon as possible I'm gonna buy it.

I discovered also that the keyboard is a T3Ex (I was convinced that it was just a T3).

Can I do the same test or can I resolve my problem using other ways?
(Just to keep doing something on my keyboard)

Thanks Smile

A T3EX should have the PCM RAM. You can try running the test anyway, although without the cable it would definitely fail the MIDI part. If the test runs, what number appears in the upper left corner of the display? That would be the ROM version.

Since it's likely you have PCM RAM, if you want to create a disk the next step would be to get a PC with floppy drive set up to run OmniFlop...

Let us know if/when you do that.
