|
|
Please excuse my absolute ignorance but I am having no luck figuring this out. I am attempting to use my M1 as a midi controller for my Volca FM. I have them connected via a midi cable (midi in to the volca and midi out to the M1), I have set both global channels to 1 (I have tried using different channels too but it makes no difference), and it is not working. I have to apologise if I am being incredibly stupid here, my knowledge of these things is very limited and I'm trying to learn! Any help at all would be very greatly appreciated! |

Hi,
Check the global settings of the FM and make sure that the MIDI RX Shortmessage is on (parameter 7).
Do you have other gear to check the MIDI connection from both M1 and Volca FM?
Good luck. _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK

Hi,
Thanks for helping! The MIDI RX shortmessage is on. I don't have any other gear to check the MIDI connections with, however I recently had to restore the factory sounds on the M1 and the MIDI in was working fine so I'm assuming the MIDI out should be okay. The Volca FM is brand new so it should be fine too. I appreciate that I'm making assumptions here so I can't be 100% sure, but I'm hoping there's just a setting I have overlooked |

MIDI-OX can be used to display received MIDI messages. |

Thanks for the help. I went out today on a hunch and purchased a new MIDI lead (despite trying 3 that I already had, one of which was still in the packaging) and it is now working perfectly fine! |
