I have a Paas speaker with my Pa4x. when I go to set the panning left or right you can hear it go from center to the right or left with this speaker. I also have external speakers. They are plugged in the audio outlets right and left. When I go to panning and set the pan they do not change, the sound comes out of both speakers. Am I doing this right or am I forgetting something in doing this.

Does it all work correctly in an "either/or" configuration - i.e. do you only get this problem when you have both PaaS and L&R connected?

I currently have both the paas speaker and external speakers hooked up. The Paas will change but the externals do not. I haven't taken the Paas off to just try the external speakers by their self. Its my understanding that they both should work together

I definitely recommend trying all 3 device scenarios:-

PaaS with L&R
PaaS with headphones
PaaS alone
L&R alone
L&R with headphones
Headphones alone

Note which ones do not pan - maybe a bug

Cheers

Seems to be connection PaAS is automatically ROUTING parts to "Left+Right" without considering routing of tracks in Globals.

PaAs also will not deactivate the main audio outputs, but seems in case you routing tracks to "Out1, Out2", these parts are routed to sub-out1 or 2 and are mixed to MONO (without sent to FX, without effecting on MASTER VOLUME).

If additional connected speakers to "Left+Right" but globally routed to "Out1 Out2" you get that parts mixed to MONO. Maybe these parts routed to "Left+Right" in Globals will allow STEREO also for additional connected external speakers (?).

PETE I DID THE FOLLOWING
1.Paas with L&R the Paas Pans L&R dosent.
2.Paas with headphones, the headphones Pan, The paas speaker shuts off when plugging head phones in. This works properly
3.Paas alone- Pans
4.L&R alone does not pan
5.L&R with headphones. Headphones Pan L&R does not
6. Headphones Pans.
It seems everything is working except for L&R.

Sorry Siebenhirter I don't understand what your trying to say.

I think it is important to go to the Global > Audio & Video > Style Kbd page to route it to "Left+Right". So the selected parts/tracks are connected to the Left & Right outs in STEREO.
In case your routed to "Out1, Out2" the selected parts/tracks are connected to the sub-out 1 or 2 and mixed to MONO - in that case I think your setting to pan left or right will not work with external speakers as expected.

Siebenhirter
I checked in global and it is set for Left and right so I don't think that is the problem.

If this was happening on my PA4X, this is what I would next in order to work through a process of elimination:-

1. FULLY backup everything (twice)
2. Remove any external add-ons (PaaS USB MIDIcables etc..)
3. Completely re-install up to the latest OS (V2 then V2.2)
4. Check to see if the problem is immediately there (L&R outputs panning)

If the problem is there I would be getting some advice from Korg engineers/service centre
If not, then:-
1. Install PaaS - check panning
2. Load your latest saved SET - check panning.
3. etc..etc..

Cheers

Oh!!! That question suddenly got me worried Wink

Just checked thoroughly and panned my UPPER 1 sound fully left and fully right through L&R outputs - so yes, it works fine for me.

Please try my suggestion and at least eliminate a "software" hiccup

Let me know how you go

Pete Very Happy

P.S. Silly question from me but have you checked your external mixer/amp settings - happened to me once where I hadn't realised that I had all channels centred...
