Happy Holidays to everyone here on the Korg forums. Very Happy

I finally could find some time to play my Kronos. To me, it is always fun to rediscover how incredible this machine is, so I decided to spend a few hours making a little video to briefly explain to a friend the main features and sound engines of the Kronos. Of course, all here know what they are, but I thought I would share it anyway.

Hope you all find some time to play your Kronos too during this time of the year !

A Christmas song I made, presenting it here a little bit late.
All sounds are from Kronos 2 and on vocals it is the Balkan Discostar Julrika Petrović Wink

Nobody Really Knows

https://soundcloud.com/user-898236994/nobody-really-knowswav

The world around us is unpredictable. We balance each day with the practical and our faith.
And adapt as best we can. But we cannot predict the outcome and tomorrow.

I am the composer/performer of this original jazz/funk instrumental that was
inspired by the uncertainty.

All music tracks are created and performed on the Korg Kronos keyboard.

The distinctive sax is a 3rd party keyboard sample created by the
talented Grzegorz Marciak of Sounds of Planet.

Greg

My original, Fight the Future, is about the rebel inside us.

https://soundcloud.com/user-898236994/fight-the-futurewav

Fight the uncertain future. Fight the Future advocates for the public good and conveys a rebellious, non conventional attitude.

I am the composer and author of this instrumental original that portrays the spirit of being non conventional .

100% composed and created on Kronos.

Thank you !

Greg

Here's my attempt to honor Vince Guaraldi and the song that got my interested in playing piano again and got me my first gig in a band MANY years ago!

Greg , your track descriptions are awesome! Glad you brought back the original idea towards the end. It would've sounded too disconnected without, even for a rebel.

For me, a strong lead was missing. Something with a mean rebellious attitude.

Thank you, Sam ! Reprises or transitioning back to main passages is important

I tried to touch on 'bad ass ' at 1:06/4;40 with simple distorted guitar parts.

I experimented with that vibe over the Arp string section but it didn't
mix well. My experience with mixing and my listeners, is to err on the side
of ' keeping it simple'.

The song has synth solos in the middle section, 3:45, where the crescendo builds.
And at the end at 4:53.

You are welcome to join my ' jury' on drafts. Thats the best time to work in improvements. Its always great to get constructive feedback anytime.

This is my very first solo/ambient/electronic release and is quite a departure from anything I have done before. The YouTube video below contains all 3 songs from the EP.

The sounds came mostly from my fledgling Eurorack (especially the 4ms Spectral Multiband Resonator) and my trusty Kronos. I also made extensive use of the Kronos effects engine. (The Kronos really is a top-notch multi-effects unit in its own right!)

Let me know what you think!

I Have a Dream- Dr Martin Luther King

https://soundcloud.com/user-898236994/mlk-i-have-a-dreamwav

This is my musical tribute to Dr Martin Luther King,
to honor a great American and a prophet.

We can find leadership and inspiration in his
words and actions. His words ring true today.

I have added my original music to amplify parts of
his inspiring I Have a Dream speech.

100% Kronos. Thank you !

Greg
