Just wondering with the release of the Kronos SE will parts still be available for the K2? Thoughts? _________________ K2 Kronos 88, Mojo 61, Korg CX3, Roland FANTOM 7 |

we don't have the spec on the SE
My guess, since Korg is not shouting about improved internals, that the SE uses the same parts as the K2 or Kronos.
SE is somewhat similar to the Platinum or the gold K, with the main diff being the included Italian Grand and the KaPro EX 272.
My guess is that Korg is still assembling the 2015 K2/Kronos for this year. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Kronos 2 was a real hardware step forward, just like Kronos X was to original Kronos.
LE was also a hardware change but only in Keybed option.
Every other edition such as Platinum and Gold, have been software and surface panel color updates to Kronos 2.
Look like SE again is the same Kronos 2 with new color option and a library option. If we are luck, it will be followed up with a software update soon.
But it is still a Kronos 2 at the heart of the SE. The new library may even become available at Korg shop, if not all programs+combis already available there.

“*all specifications other than color, Italian piano, and KApro sounds are identical to the standard model of the KRONOS” |

Did some research and seems like SE is just same internal parts as K2 with new sounds.
Talked someone at Sweetwater and he said the Italian Grand was really nice. Same piano that is in the new Korg Grandstage I am pretty sure. Most likely will become available at Korg Sound Library. _________________ K2 Kronos 88, Mojo 61, Korg CX3, Roland FANTOM 7

Well, at least they have enough Kronos paint left for years to come. _________________ Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5 |

" Italian Grand " has been around for 3 years, at least as KaPro 3rd part sample:

I think its suppose to be a Fazioli. I recall we had discussions about this - 2 or 3 yrs ago ?
So its curious to nail down the origin of the " Italian Grand", or when the sample first became available.
Did Korg sound programmers create the " Italian Grand" from scratch ?
Or is KaPro [ Kurt Ader} the author ? _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Korg Exec: We need some new ideas to improve the Kronos for NAMM 2019. What should we do?
Korg R&D: Look at www.korgforums.com - there are multiple "Kronos Wish List" threads with thousands of posts containing great ideas from customers using the Kronos since 2011. Here's our list of the top ten...
Later.....
Korg Exec: Thanks for your input - really great ideas. We've decided on the revolutionary Kronos Update that will wow the market and re-invigorate the Kronos for years to come. We're going to add some red color to the front panel and pre-install some sound libraries!!! _________________ Kronos2 73, Presonus StudioLive, Cakewalk / Sonar Platinum, Windows 10 |

I can confirm that the SE is exactly the same as the Kronos 2 and no the kronos 2 hasn't been discontinued as of yet. All the SE is, is similar to the gold and platinum with a repaint and 2 software instrument libraries added as a sale refresher point. that's it. same parts. |
