Korg Gadget 2 is soon to be released with the following upgrades:

-Six new gadgets.
-Expanded utility features.
-Brushed up user interface based on user feedback.
-Redesigned main screen view so that useers can see the status of each track at a glance.
-New smooth tempo-change and fade-in/out function.
-Windows compatibility for plug-ins only.

The new Gadgets are as follows:
-Memphis (Semi-Modular Analogue Synthesizer)
This is the iMS-20 complete with ESP (external signal processor) and SQ-1 type functionality (a mod sequencer).
Much like Darwin is awarded for purchasing the iM1 app, Memphis is clearly the Gadget form of the iMS-20.
One would think this is an odd choice given the existence of Dublin. And it is. But just as Marseille can be thought of as an M1 with Darwin being a true M1 emulator, so too is Dublin to Memphis.

-Pompei (6Voices Analogue Synthesizer)
Like above, this is the reward for purchasing the iPolysix. Pretty much the only things this can do that Phoenix can't is use particular effects and it probably has an arpeggiator too. It will of course carry it's own sound distinct from Phoenix just as a Polysix doesn't sound like an OB-8. Different number of oscillators, voices, different style filter slope etc.

-Taipei (MIDI-Out Control Module)
Comes with CC assignable knobs and also a Kaoss Pad XY.

-Durban (Bass Effect Processor)
What more do you need to know? The bass equivalent of Rosario.

-Otorii (16bit Groove Machine)
A drum module with sounds sampled from various Sega games. I'm definitely expecting to hear the comb filter "boing" sound of sonic jumping off a spring.

-Ebina (16 Bit Chip)
This also uses sampled sounds but might also have a small FM section. This could mean it has the structure of the YM2413 which would be badass.

I notice a sale price for the Gadget plugins on OSX for $149.

Is that pointing to the possibility of just purchasing the gadget plugins on their own as an AU / VST plugin bundle?

Yup! The sale ends March 31st (which happens to be my birthday). Not all plug-ins are currently available for Windows but they will be updated soon. For a full compatibility list check the chart at the bottom of this page: https://www.korg.com/us/products/software/korg_gadget/gadget_collection.php

The Switch is going to get Otorii and Ebina Gadgets for free. Otorii is a new rhythm module with classic Sega sounds. Ebina might be emulating the YM2610 which is a four operator FM synth with noise and an LFO.

Really? That's better than a poke in the eye. Do you have a link for this?

I bought the Windows version.

At the moment it only contains about half of the Gadget plugins Korg is offering on the other platforms. The rest will be delivered with a future update according to Korg.

Much worse than that: not a single of the available plugins reacts to keyboard controller pitch bend and modwheel. And that makes all the synth plugins (among only the first half delivered) more or less useless.

I must admit I'm a bit speechless about this kind of delivery. Shocked

Same story on MacOS? Anyone?

All my ipoly6-songs and patterns are gone after updating to Korg Gadget 2. Be careful!
