|
|
On the Combi / Controllers Tab, there is a setting for SW1 and 2, which can be changed to Octave Up or Octave down. But that is global for all Timbres in the Combi.
I can edit the Timbre's program so it responds to SW2 Mod CC81 with a one octave pitch change. But that takes place immediately and causes any sounding notes to jump in pitch.
Is there another way to apply a controlled transpose to a specific Timbre in a Combi? I thought there was but I can't find it. _________________ Kronos2 73, Presonus StudioLive, Cakewalk / Sonar Platinum, Windows 10 |

I'd probably go the route of creating a KARMA scene where the only difference is that one Timbre transposed up an octave.
Creating a KARMA scene just to toggle different timbres is a useful trick to have in your toolbag. Scoopicman has a 5 minute tutorial on how to do this below.
I forgot how to put a YouTube video in a post, here's just the link instead:

You can do that using Control Surface tab, not using SW1/2 but using one of the 16 switches of the control surface.
From the initial tab of the combi, press "Control Surface Tab". Then, select the timbre you want to be set. (select box upper right of the screen).
You will see the 8 knobs displayed and below each of them, two rows of switches. For each of them : ON/OFF for the switch state and just below a box with a value.
You select "OSC1:Tune" on the list, then -1200 if you want one octave lower, +1200 if you want one octave upper. Then pressing the switch will immediatly commute between octaves. If your program has 2 OSC, you do the same with a second switch (beside or below). Then, you will have to presse the two switches at the same time if you want the two OSC to be transposed.
(The list of accessible parameter depends on the chosen Engine. For example, with SGX-2 you will get "Transpose "parameter. See page 452 Parameter Guide for the page to go according to the engine.) |

+1
Tone Adjust on the Control Surface
This is a good method too, especially since you can change other parameters as well if needed. |

@psionic311, thanks for the reminder. I have used Karma for layer switching and similar before. It's a roundabout way to accomplish what should be a simple task, but I'm thankful that it is there.
@Liviou2004, The control surface is a good way to edit the program from the Timbre, but still suffers from the drawbacks as you mention. _________________ Kronos2 73, Presonus StudioLive, Cakewalk / Sonar Platinum, Windows 10 |
