There are several videos on YouTube.
Search for "Korg Kronos key replacement" or "Korg Kronos key repair".
Not very difficult. Just many srews on the bottom.

You didn’t mention that keys were broken or damaged. Thanks for clearing that up. _________________ Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s. |

If you bought your Kronos used, it is indeed rather easy to fix. But if you bought it refurbished or new from a store, you can say goodbye to your warranty if you open your unit. In that case, the best option is to return the damaged unit for repair or replacement. |

Something doesn't seem right about this.
Why not take it to a reputable repair shop? I doubt Fedex would reimburse you for a DIY repair.
It is not stolen, is it? |

It is not stolen, is it? | . there is nothing strange in this case I just want to fix my kronos as soon as posibke. if I wait for fedex to respond for the damage. and decide to pay for it. I have to wait for days. week or months. so I don’t want a broken kronos.sitting in my closet and the truth. It's not a major damage, it's just a few broken keys. I do not take to the shop because
They will also take time to do the work depending on what they have in front of my kronos
warranty I do not have the kronos I buy it. used.if I buy a kronos it is because I need it not to have it in a shop and it is not stolen. I think that you used to steal, that's why you think I do that too. I paid for it and I got the bad luck that Fedex damaged it.
What I need is help. to fix my kronos but I see that you has more questions than answers to help with my problem I look on YouTube but is only videos for 73 or 88 keys my is KRONOS 2 61 completely different. thank you to everyone _________________ Rolasmusic |

Hello Rolasmusic,
So were you able to replace them without opening the unit ? Just curious, as mine is an 88 and it is quite a bit more involved to remove keys. Glad it worked well for you. |

On the Kronos 61, you don't even need to take it apart to replace keys.
Just press the key down hard near the case and pull toward you. This is exactly the same as how you'd remove it if you take the back off.
Just remember you need to remove the surrounding white keys to remove a black key. _________________ Current Equipment:

Just a little off topic about that SY99 key repair pdf posted on that topic above...,
i absolutely cringe when ever i see some one posting "instructions" on how to replace keys on those keybeds (korg or yamaha) and instruct people to "be very careful of the key contacts" when that darn board should be taken out of the keybed and put of the way every damn time you work on the keys .
Even on "tech sites" like bustedgear.com there are pics of the darn board in place when changing keys...
And people wonder a lot of times why those keys done work anymore after the repair....
Geee... I wonder why....
Maybe its one of the metal key contacts that got bent when putting the key back, when they shouldn't be in the way in the first place....
Sorry for the rant, but I've seen this mistake being spreaded around the net for over 10 years....
[/end of rant]
