I bought the Korg sustain pedal for the K2 and didn't have it for very long before it began squeaking noticeably.

I thought perhaps I just had a defective pedal but then happened to see a video of Jordan Rudess showing his Dream Theater stage setup. He went to his K2 and I could hear the pedal squeak in exactly the same way, so perhaps not an uncommon problem.

Of course, when you're on stage playing to thousands of people, it doesn't matter. Sitting in the living room playing piano, it's rather annoying.

Has anyone else encountered this with the Korg pedal, and if so is there any lubricant / treatment that you've successfully applied?

I have 2 of these pedals, and have never had a problem. Do you live in a generally dry climate? From my experience in the past though, it's likely to be the return spring which is causing the squeak. Normally a bit of light grease or vaseline applied to the spring is enough to shut it up.

Thanks, man.

I'm in Atlanta, but my house humidity is typically pretty low so your observation is spot on.

I'll give it a little grease and then go back to enjoying what a great instrument the Kronos is. Smile

I have Korg’s DS-1H sustain pedal, and no squeaks that i notice.
Maybe there is if i get under the kronos and listen closely, but even at home, i turn the volume up while playing.
So, not worth it to me, to go down to the ground to listen for any minor squeaks.

A shot of WD-40 on any pedal is all it takes.
Works every time.

Good to know I'm not the only one! Mine started squeaking after about only one month. And I'm in Florida so humidity is a waxy of life. Thanks for the fix recommendations guys..

WD do a white lithium grease which is great for this sort of thing: https://www.screwfix.com/p/wd-40-specialist-white-lithium-grease-400ml/46103?kpid=46103&ds_kid=92700023753053085&gclsrc=aw.ds&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1243318&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5v_GieXM4gIVmKztCh1tFg9iEAQYAiABEgJ18vD_BwE

I have a Roland pedal that does the same thing. Every now and then I give it a little "unsqueek" stuff. Ya..that's my tech term Laughing
