Calling all EK-50 owners:

With the EK-50 is there any visibility of the Lower, Upper 1,2 &3 voices on the display whilst playing?

I can't seem to figure out, with the EK-50's Set List operating system, what Upper 2,3 and Lower voices have been programmed to go with a particular Style, other than the default Upper 1 voice, which is shown on the screen and what oher voices a player can chose within the STS?

As I am now a proud owner of an EK-50 I think I've now answered my question. (See above)

The Keyboard Sets only show the Upper 1 voice, from which the Keyboard Set Lists take their name, all other Upper 2,3 and Lower voices that can be selected do not appear in the display when selected by pressing the Part buttons. Only Upper 1 is shown, albeit other voices might be sounding if selected. However by pressing the SHIFT button in conjunction with the Part button the name of that voice is revealed. This voice now remains in the display even when again subsequent Part buttons are pressed and selected. Which initially stuck me as 'odd' and confusing necessitating the player to remember these other voices in a Keyboard Set since it could be difficult depressing two buttons at the same time whilst playing to find out the name of the voice sounding.

Another limiting factor is that the player is limited to only changing, and saving only one voice in these Keyboard Set Lists.

Apart from thes peculiarities I am blow away by the quality of the sounds on this keyboard -as stated by other Forum members.

Personally, I get asked to play hymns on Sundays at local village churches on their small pipe organs and I need something to practise on. I've coupled my EK-50 to my Nord Midi 27 note pedal-board which I've set up and dedicated to play the Lower voice on the keyboard. I convert the Nords's fixed midi channel 3 to midi channel 4 by means of a Midi/USB host and channel converter and I am more than delighted with the EK-50 which is making some great connoisseur classical type pipe organ sounds other that the ubiquitous Full Organ pipe noise found on all keyboards which I've always found to be of limited use.

Sorry - I only just got chance to check forum out today - that nasty 4 letter word got in the way ..... WORK

Yes Mitzie... it is confusing re. individual sounds
I put a pdf list together and read these from my tablet set above the keyboard for quick ref. i also did this with ALl the sound cats.
is there a way to post these PDF's on here ? as your welcome to a copy.

Yes i am DELIGHTED with mine and using the 2 boards together, I just find it great as i can load the 10 banks to the upper board and set split, giving me no less than 80 nice additional pre set, upper voices to use on the fly.

This OS is a breeze, reminds me of the Orla/Ringway organ OS
I know it will never be a 4X but what the hell ... and with only 64 Poly its not a problem when using the 2 boards.
I just wish you could load more than one set of banks .....but hey ho ....its little more than the price of a toy, what I paid used for mine.
