I purchased a new Kronos 2 88. I would like to connect it to studio monitors that can input USB and optical audio. Currently, when I plug the Kronos outputs to the respective inputs on th monitors, I get no sound. How do I configure the Kronos settings? Thanks.[/url]

Did you use USB-A or USB-B ? The last one is to be used.

When using SPDIF output there must be only one master clock for all devices. So, if your monitors or your mixer generates its own clock, you must set the System Clock in Global Mode, not to Internal, but to S/P DIF.

I am using the Yamaha NX-N500 network monitors, which do not have their own clock. I realized that the mode on the remote control was not set to "OPT", which was the cause of the issue. The system clock is set to "Internal" and it works fine.

I was using the Kronos USB-A instead of USB-B. My monitors have a USB-B port. Does this mean I would have to buy a USB-B to USB-B cable?

Yes, there is no audio signal coming out of the USB-A, so you have to use USB-B.
But, as you get your audio signal from S/P DIF output, you can use it and keep your Kronos USB-B output for a computer connection.
