|
|
So I decided to take the plunge and purchase the Pa4x 76 keys. It currently has 2.20 OS using UPD. I read that I can not upgrade to OS 3.01 until I upgrade from 2.20 to 3.00. First off is this TRUE?
If so, I can not find where on Korg's site where 3.00 OS is. I can see 2.0 OS but no 3.0.
Will someone send me a link on where to find 3.00 if needed. Otherwise I already put 3.01 OS and Resources on a USB drive. Thanks in advance. |

Hey Steve
As long as you are already at V2.xxx you can upgrade directly to 3.0.1
Cheers

I was able to install 3.01 without a problem. Thanks again. I have another question I hope someone can answer. I have a bunch of backing tracks on a USB drive. When I play these in my Pa3x it plays the Korg instruments I assigned. When I play these midi song in my Pa4 it plays them defaulted to GM2 instruments.
Sounds pretty bad. However if I press the TRACK button and go through each instrument, I can change them to anything in the Pa4's library. My problem is when I am finished changing all the instruments, where and how do I save this midi file so the next time it pulls up the instruments I want?
Thank you,
Steve |

Editing of midi files is possible only in sequencer mode (saving feature is also included) _________________ Korg pa5x vs Genos 2 - spec comparison |

Rather than me try to explain the procedure - please see the "Pa4X Video Manual Part 8: Recording a Song" on YouTube. The section that you require starts at about 5.58. It will save it to your USB memory stick.
Hope this is of some help.

OK I will give a look. All of my backing tracks are on my USB drive. So I should dump my backing tracks onto the HD and save the fixed song to spare USB flash drive? |

I suppose you can do that if you wish. I have the “61” version so don’t have a hard drive.
What I have done is as follows :-
After loading the midi file to the sequencer from the USB stick and editing it, I saved the amended song to the same USB stick but with the amended title “original title 4x”.

Create a folder on your USB drive and name it direct.set
Include the .set in the name.
You can then save to this folder and it will function more or less as an internal hard drive.
I save my custom Styles via Songbook to the direct.set folder _________________ Biggles
