Hello! First-time user here with a weird problem.

I have my Krome hooked up to a MACKIE DFX-6 mixing board via XLR cable and for some reason, whenever I select specific patches, it comes out very soft and echo-y sounding. There's an effects processor on the mixing board, and I'm pretty sure I turned it off. The master and total FX buttons seem to be the culprit here; for some patches I turn off one or the other and it works fine, but more often than not no sound comes out. I also use a Korg X5DR rackmount synthesizer as well, and in the General MIDI bank (and only the GM bank) this same problem happens.

If using a single XLR cable, then the Krome's output will be mono. Try using two 1/4" jack to XLR cables to two of the Mackie DFX-6 inputs, panning one hard left and the other hard right, or, better still, two mono jack to jack, connecting the Krome Audio L and R outs to two Line Ins on th eDFX-6. The XLR inputs have a smaller overload margin than the Line Ins, and are better suited to use with microphones. Quite a few of the Krome's sounds benefit from being heard in stereo, rather than mono, especially pianos.

The Krome audio outputs are single-ended audio outputs, rather than balanced outs, so using XLR cables will give no benefit over mono jack to jack.

Also, the Mackie's Mic input impedance is 3kohms, whilst the Krome's outputs are specified at 10kohms or greater, so the Krome is better suited to the Mackie's Line Ins.
