|

When I turn off the "original sound set" option and save the rhythm, then if I enter the "record / edit style" for the reason that I edit something, when I finish the changes and exit the "record / edit style" option, "original sound set" is turned on and if I turned it off. This is a problem for me because the instruments I chose outside the record mode are lost. Please correct that. |

This is correct.
You can change the "original" sounds in style edit and then overwrite the style.
Or, in STYLE PLAY mode, if you select difference sounds to the original the Original Sound Set will automatically go off.
If you want to play with your selection of sounds simply create a song in SONGBOOK and all your selection will be remembered.
Hope I've understood you correctly and this helps

You can save a songbook entry of that style with the original sounds to off,and with the alternative sounds and mix you want to use.
Then,no matter how many times you will edit the style, when you recall it from songbook,it will always have the sounds you want _________________

That is not to be a problem of any OS-Version, but a problem of usage or to understand how option OriginalSoundSet is intended to be applied in all Pa-Arrangers of Korg.
When you turn off OriginalSoundSet and save, you do not save the rhythm (style), but you write a style performance. Only sounds of style tracks assigned in record mode are saved in style elements of style - so tracks of one style element may contain sounds that differ from sounds of tracks in other style elements of the same style and tracks of each variation of the same style can use different sound combinations.
A sound or sound combination assigned or changed in styleplay mode is not saved in style elements, but can be saved with "Write current Style Performance" and with OriginalSoundSet is turned off. Once written with turned off OriginalSoundSet the style performance will not loose its sound settings. Played with turned off OriginalSoundSet the sounds of a style performance will not change when choosing different style elements (variations) of the style.
But it is possible to switch between OriginalSounds and sounds of style performance with selection of OriginalSoundSet checkbox in main page.
Maybe you want use different sound combinations saved in style elements of the style, you can use them with turned on OriginalSoundSet (without loosing sounds of style performance). If you prefer to use assigned sounds to the accompaniment tracks that will not change when choosing a different variation, you can use it with turn off OriginalSoundSet - this are the sounds of "Written to a current style performance".
*
Sound settings of a style performance only will be lost if you "Write current Style Performance" with turned on OriginalSoundSet - what I think seems to be plausibily.
If you left record mode with "Write Style" then OriginalSoundSet always is ON, because in record mode only the ‘original’ sounds are handled. If you want additional 'performance' sounds in styles, you can do it in style performance of each style, but only make sense written it with OriginalSoundSet turned OFF.
*
To USE SONGBOOK FOR SUCH STYLE-TYPE ENTRIES IS NOT RECOMMENDED, because of its shortcoming with selection of sb-entries automatically causes to switch to KbdSet#1 also if "StyleToKbdSet" is set to OFF.
This really is annoying around with running styles forcing sounds of realtime-tracks to interrupt and bump to a sound-setting, while a gentle, soft transition is needed how one would expect from "StyleToKbdSet" set to OFF.
Such applications with same style but different style-performances are much MORE USEFUL WITHOUT SONGBOOK - at least it saves the annoyance with unuseable bumpy transitions automatically to KbdSet#1 each time sb-entry is selected with a running style!
*
StyleToKbdSet for Sb-Entry types "Style" is useless, as long as with setting OFF each selection of an entry automatically switching to KbdSet#1 will not be prevented.
That should be considered and should be corrected with next OS of Pa4x, Pa1000, Pa700. _________________ kind regards

Well, the song is back...
Again, forcing KeyboardSet #1 when selecting a song from the Songbook is not an error to correct in a future version of the OS, but is intended (as written in the manual).
Songbook gives you the greatest flexibility as you can define yourself the sounds you insert in KeyboardSet #1.
And so, if you want a smooth transition between Songbook entries, it's only up to you.
And of course, Songbook is just as useful in both cases, with or without "Original Sound Set" enabled. |

.
If you or anyone who owns a Korg PA that has or conceives they have a problem then the absolute best course ofvaction is to: -
Report it to Korg
We continually have people raising issues but they seem to fail to act on them other than to post threads.
I took one of the these posts and asked a question of Korg staff directly and they proceeded to show that it was not indeed a problem just a change in the way to do things since previous PA versions.
I fail to see Keyboard Sets being and significant issue, create a Songbook entry and then Setlists and whatever you have as Keyboard Sets change as you change to whatever you have set them to in another Songbook entry or if you want the same quarter as the STS then just apply those KbS’s to the Song.
Maybe heading over to The Korg Gurus website and learning from the Masters will also help.
Good luck. _________________ Biggles

.. is reported, but is allowed to mention issues here (!?).
With "StyleToKbdSet" set to OFF forcing KbdSet#1 when selecting sb with a runnig style causes a bumpy interruption - a problem that Korg is known.
As one can check in style-play-mode the function "StyleToKbdSet" set to OFF is made to get soft transitions of realtime-tracks when style is changed. In styleplay-mode the function "StyleToKbdSet" works satisfactorily, but use of the songbook is not suitable with this function, because the automatic switch to KbdSet#1 with runnig style causes an annoying, ugly interruption.
Maybe no significant issue is seen from users with KeyboardSet in songplay-mode, but there is already a significant difference whether used in styleplay-mode or with songbook - songbook not is useful in case using "StyleToKbdSet"=Off with entry-type style (senseless if automatically switch to KbdSet#1).
So USING SONGBOOK FOR STYLE-TYPE ENTRIES also NOT IS RECOMMENDED for original posters behaviour to use it with different selections of sounds in style-tracks, alternately switched with the style-performances function "OriginalSound", because disturbing transitions of recent realtime-tracks with KbdSet#1 each time selecting a sb-entry. _________________ kind regards
