Hi.
I have just updated from v3 to v3.1 do I need to perform a factory reset? Are there any new musical resources included in this update? Can anyone advise please?

Very good question.
I did an update from 3.0.1 to 3.1.0, and hadn't performed factory restore.
also would like to know. _________________ Korg pa5x vs Genos 2 - spec comparison |

I don't think there is anything new but why not be safe and backup, fully update per instructions, then restore your backup.
Of course, if you overwrite factory data then you will have a problem if you perform the "factory restore"

On the whole, as long as your performance schedule permits, I think it better to do a full backup, install a new OS and do a full factory restore, and mess around playing, rebooting, just doing general stuff, exploring new styles or features while the factory resources are the only thing in the arranger.
This way, if you come across any issues, you will know for certain that it is an issue with the OS and not something in your data. If you then load your data after a trouble free first check and find an issue, you are in a better position to help Korg track down any issues.
It takes a little longer, but the benefits if you later have issues will pay off when trying to troubleshoot... |
