Wow - now that is a proper modern poly - just hope it isn't too expensive - £1400 - £1500 would be a no brainer. |

Love the look of this. It's a really nice design.
Not my kind of musical instrument though. I've come to the conclusion I will always prefer wave-table synthesis far more.
Regards

@Sharp... I guess you have an eye out for "Waldorf Kyra" when it hits the stores?... Something I am keen to check out myself _________________ Korg PA5X-76 : Yamaha Montage M8x : Roland Jupiter 80 : Waldorf STVC : Roland Integra 7 : Waldorf Streichfett : Focal Trio6 ST6 : Studio Outboards/RME Audio Interface/A&H SQ Mixer : |

Absolutely. You can see the difference the wave tables make instantly. Instead of the same old emulations, you actually get something new form the engine.

I'm a massive fan of wavetable synthesis. Sculpting raw waves in the traditional subtractive manner using evelopes to modulate filters and amplifiers just doesn't have the same sonic impact as simple scanning a table of single-cycle waveforms with contrasting harmonic content. The engine in the Peak/Summit is the first I've heard that has made me seriously go "WOW, this is amazing" in the same way I did when I received my XTk 19yrs ago. I wish more companies would incorporate them into their synths. I can't imagine it being very hard considering essentially utilises rompler type technology (he says having not ever programmed a synth engine in his life ) _________________ Stuff I'm using: Umm right now, well there's a Volca Drum, a Micro Freak, an ADX-1, a Pulse, a Blofeld, a UNO Drum, KeyStep/Beatstep Pro/Keystep Pro (one of each), a Circuit, a LiveTrak L-12 and this nonsense: The Brief-case as it was about a bit over a year ago (the the complete ridiculous GAS monster collection here)and here |
