Quote: | If someone has access to Liverpool arranger,
he can just unlock "factory Styles " in the Global Menu and proceed with a normal SAVE ALL SET |
I may be wrong, but I think this has been tried and cannot be done on the "Liverpool"
There's no factory data unlock option in the manual - I would imagine that this is "sensibly" deliberate.

Hi,
It's pretty well known that those Liverpool arranger styles/backings are unobtainable. Korg will have paid good money to be allowed to use them on the Liverpool arranger.
What seems so ridiculous is that Korg would put them on a ultra budget keyboard that has a very limited market (even the keys are mini ones).
It's not much better than a kids keyboard despite it's capabilities.
Had they made a special edition Liverpool PA4X it would have appealed to a wider audience (not just beginners and Beatles fans) and you would have had quality voices to use with the styles/backings.

The question was asked to the Korg staff members on one of their webinars.
So they know that PA owners want the Liverpool styles, but they did say that............... _________________ Biggles

I suppose Korg could issue the complete Liverpool set of styles for a charge.
Thing is, having a history of issuing styles for free, they might have trouble charging a price for anything. But if it was something nominal, enough to cover their acquistion costs, I could see a lot of people buying a Liverpool set. _________________ When I nod my head . . . Hit it!

In the download section of forum -
If you go to PA50/80 section there is a Roland conversion set. you will find there are several genre sub-folders which are Beatles in this.
They are pretty good
Hope that helps!

I have alluded to this on another thread (actually, not really the right one, it just got a bit OT) but here is a perfect example to prove that Korg CAN protect content and make it virtually impossible to steal.
So why isn’t this capability made available through Korg for all arrangers, so talented style makers can freely create content free from the fear of piracy? This, I honestly think would create an explosion of available high quality styles at affordable prices...
Yes, just like the Liverpool styles, this would mean that they can’t be edited and exported (does anyone know if the Liverpool styles can be edited back to protected memory or are they simply untouchable?) but the whole idea is that, just like arrangers’ early days when styles all were ROM and uneditable, they just need to be made close to perfect in the first place!
An arranger is a content delivery system (I said this on the other thread). Imagine an iPad without the App Store and protected app delivery. Apps would cost a fortune because of piracy, and few talented developers would bother to support the tablet. This is what is happening to arranger content because Korg have no mechanism to protect third party content, only their own.
I believe Korg should develop a system perhaps based on the iPad/App Store model that allows developers to stop fearing piracy and get back to work, and if the cost of it is uneditable styles, so be it! I don’t think that I have ever read a comment saying ‘I would have bought a Korg Liverpool but it wouldn’t let me edit or copy the styles!”
Apple make hardware, but understand that without content they will sell very few units. Perhaps Korg can see the lesson here? |

I suppose an 'inventive' way of maybe going the back way around would be to create a midi file using a factory style. You could then use this midi file on a PA which has a 'style creator' ie PA1000/4X to then convert the midi to a style.
Not sure how good it would work, if in fact it would at all?? maybe that is a way of loading the Liverpool styles somehow to another instrument ..
I see several people own a Liverpool to use in tandem with other arrangers - as i do with the EK50 and yes i do believe these styles are 'locked' I guy from Korg told me they had to pay a fortune to use them but had to make them 'un-manageable' how true this is i dont know....i am not in the least technical!
I find there are loads of decent styles out there but I do find Korg files far more difficult to organise on my PC into decent sets - in fact impossible, whereas Yamaha files are very easy to drag, drop, copy paste etc. The EK50 is 'load only' being a basic arranger so it's hard to sort with this no being able to manage on the board itself.

Can't they be recorded via Quick Record mode or by using a daw ?
I believe there must be a way. If it doesn't,then there is no way for Users to lock styles, other than hard chip them somehow . _________________
