I have a Korg G1 Air and I notice that when I play forte the sound is very strange almost metallic.

Is the effect the same on all sounds and all modes?

It is the same in GP1, GP2, GP3, AP1, AP2, AP3, JP1, JP2 and JP3 in all modes.

I think he is referring to a typical piano characteristic – have you ever played a real acoustic piano. In my opinion, the G1 is the closest you will get to a real piano at the moment. Some people think good quality piano sound is smooth and without the real resonance and other sounds effects of the real piano, but that’s wrong. I play the keyboard and piano for 36 years and can tell you (as I bought a G1B Air about 6 weeks ago), G1 is truly the best digital piano I came across, despite the low cost. The metal-like sound you refer to is the sound when you hit a key and when the hammer hits the string in the piano. If you play the piano grade 4-5 and above, you will appreciate what Korg did for the G1. Well, I love mine.
