Hi all
Does anybody know if the Kronos has a 70s disco synth drum sound....the one that goes ‘Booooo’ (!?!) as heard on the Tina Marie ‘Feels Like I’m In Love’ Song and also at the start of ‘Tryouts For The Human Race’ by Sparks. I’ve spent several hours trawling through the various drum sounds with no luck...unless I’ve missed it! If you know of one, pleasecould you point me to where it’s hiding! I was going to sample the Sparks one, but it’s quite a noisy sample.

Many thanks

Nigel

post your cover songs samples on youTube so I can best answer your post.

I am very familiar with Kronos drum kits and the many drum patterns.

Have you tried the Why Disco Died... program? It's at U-C124 on my Kronos X (might be at a different place on a K2). The release might be a touch long, but you can always tweak that on the Tone Adjust page.

Alternately, go to GLOBAL mode, select the Drum Kit > Sample Setup tab, select the EXs5 (mono) bank, and try out drum samples 309-311. Remember to write your modified drumkit (personally I'd write to a new drumkit slot in a user-bank, rather than overwriting back to an existing one) and reference it in a new program.

Thanks all. I decided to use the ‘Why Disco Died’ sound as suggested and slightly edited the waveform. It’s good enough for what I need. Many thanks for your help. Smile
