Just as an FYI, it's wasn't a Minimoog that Steve Winwood used. Here's a quote:

Love this. I just did some work on a basic bluesy pop song that currently has a measly 43 tracks, not including reverb and drum buses. |

They were artists then. Trying to work with only one synth and 16 tracks. I feel ashamed for having 2 synths and a 24 track Tascam ... 
I have to say that choosing a hardware recorder instead of a DAW makes me focus on the track not the gear.

In the Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton at Madison Square Garden DVD, he played a Yamaha Grand, a Hammond B3, and a Minimoog Voyager.
But he also had another keyboard player onstage with a host of instruments.

| I'm just covering (trying to!) the track 'While you see a chance' and using the Behringer Poly D to emulate the moog part. As you say the Poly D emulates a mini moog (model D) so it doesn't have PWM, however I've got the sound extremely close using a single oscillator set to the 2nd narrow pulse waveform and using an extremely short filter envelope to add some zing to the attack of the sound. Careful adjustment of the filter sustain level and cut off and it sounds pretty good! |
