first of all, nice to meet you Very Happy
and excuse me for my bad English. i m from Greece. Cool
is my first post here since i just owned a PA700 and i am a bit lost in space.
i m about to buy a middle budget pair of headphones, to use them directly in my arranger.
after searching i decided to go with beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro instead of Sony MDR-7506.
the problem is that the beyerdynamic have 250 Ohm impedance
and my Korg PA700 Specifications said:
"Headphone output 16-200 Ohms (50 Ohms suggested)"

i saw in this thread that Kronos can hande 250 Ω headphones easily:

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=98424&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

i dont want to play them in high levels.
i just want the clarity and the flat character they have.

if anyone has used 250 ohm headphones with PA series, please help.

second question: is there a place to get free stuff for my PA?
styles, sounds etc.
i get all the free stuff from Korg's site but i m searching basically for greek sounds and styles.
also interested for international new pop - ballads styles.
i know that "you get what you pay for" and free stuff isn't so good as paid one, but its ok to me.

third question: i have a 16gb SD card. is there any tutorial or video that explains the use of internal sd cards instead of usb drives?
i mean, what do i earn if i use this?
can i use styles or sounds directly from sd card, to widen the capabilities of my PA?

regards

Cannot answer re headphones.

Type Korg Bonusware in search engine for free stuff direct from Korg.

Type Korg Osimo Pa 700 in search engine for KorgUK’s free Songbook with c120 custom Songs each with Styles and Keyboard Sets.

The SD card is a Micro SD and you can use it just like a thumb drive but it is behind a small panel.

Use a USB drive, they are cheap, format it in the Pa before using.

This is the advice I gave in another thread
.
.
.
Format the USB stick on your Pa.

With the USB stick in a Computer create some new Folders and name some of them:-

Backup

SaveAll

Direct

Updates

Plus whatever else you want.

Download the latest Operating System, extract it to your USB drive and save the Zip file in the Updates folder

Go to

https://korgworld.co.uk/pages/osimo-next-for-pa4x?_pos=4&_sid=a728b397d&_ss=r

Download Osimo and extract it to your USB drive

Eject the USB stick correctly and insert it in your Pa.

Create a Backup file and name it as you want and save it to Backup folder

Create a SaveAll file and save it to the SaveAll folder

Now you have a good starter USB drive.

thanks a lot Biggles for your infos
as i said, i already download all the free stuff from Korg's site.

i m just downloading the Osimo now. very useful!

i already put my sd card to the keyboard and put inside a lot of stuff. styles, midi files etc.
i usually connect my PA with my PC over USB, and load all the new stuff in my
installed sd card.
so, my question was about the advantages of the sd card over usb sticks. if any. (i mean, can i use direct styles or sounds from sd card without buffering problems?.. etc)

still didn't have found any infos about 250ohm headphones in PA series.

regards,
Stavros

As I said the Micro SD card and the USB thumb drive can both be used in exactly the same manner.

I used the Micro SD in my Pa as a complete copy of what was on the USB drive.

Set up a Direct folder on the storage device and activate it, then save there to keep inbuilt memory free

There is another useful resource

Songbook Editor

Available as a download direct from the Korg website, there is a video tutorial by Korg on using it, it is c35 minutes long and very useful

thanks again Biggles.

i already have the songbook editor.
but when i downloaded Osimo, there is no any installer inside
except a Songbook folder.
you told me that i have to install this in my usb drive.
but there is nothing to install.
the same in pa700 and p4X versions of download.
i check them both.

p.s.
just another question:
yesterday i was trying a set and i did "save all" in Korg factory drive.
not in sd or usb drive.
this was right or wrong?
i mean, did i have to remove anything and put it in another folder?

You have to understand what is inside a set. There may be 1 or more folders. This will determine what will be loaded. Osimo is just a songbook folder that will correspond to your factory styles. Other sets may include styles, sounds, samples, etc. which may be mapped to user or direct banks.
When you save all, you can choose internal Korg drive or sd, usb if it has them inserted. All your doing is saving to a named file folder. Always rename to prevent over writing.

thanx Keymn
that was helpful.
i have to understand the structure of all of that.
but until now i haven't find a tutorial that explains all of that, from start to finish.
i have downloaded all the free stuff from Korg's site, styles.. sets.. etc.
i also have downloaded Osimo and Dopamine-PA600-2.6.SET and many other sets from Greek forums
but i am afraid to start installing cause maybe i write over my default sound and styles.
some of that said that i must uncheck the factory protection. Shocked
i wont do that before i understand correctly what i m doing.
some folders have PCM sounds. i dont know what to do with them.
the pa700 manual have so little info about all of that.
im lost in space.
i read somewhere about an "advanced manual". where is that?
one other problem is the many different save options of all of that.
i m afraid to save anything!
believe me, if there was a tutorial that explains all, in pdf or video, i will have seen it.
but im still searching.

thanks anyway
