I use external hard drives for backup and large projects. Keeping the original drive as the primary is a good idea..

Yep didn´t read this before.
I tried to replace factory drive with a Kingston 250 GB ssd and the DVDs could´t format the drive.

In order to format the drive or clone it can it be done on Mac or Windows?
Or this procedure requires Linux environment only.

TIA

I've done mine under Windows with no problem, but you need the right tools. If done correctly, you should not need the Korg DVDs. Follow exactly the procedure given by Purgatory at the 4th post in the link below. Unless you lost the contents of your original SSD, you can ignore the rest of the topic. Later there I also added the bootup speed improvement on my K2, since newer good quality SSDs are faster than the original coming in the Kronos.

Just putting it out here:
Never got the System V2 or System V3 dvds to complete on a 120GB drive.
Ended up cloning (and expanding) for both K1 och K2(SE) which worked flawlessly. Used Gparted.

I WAS GETTING THE SYSTEM STARTUP FAILED
I HAD TO REPLACE HARD DRIVE BECAUSE RAM WAS WORKING FINE
MINE WAS STUCK FORMATING BECAUSE I WAS USING A 250GB HARD DRIVE

I REPLACED ORIGINAL HARD DRIVE WITH 250GB USING THIS SOFTWARE TO CLONE THE HARD DRIVE (EASE US) AND WORKED PERFECTLY I JUST HAD TO DO A FULL INSTALL USING THE DVDS 1-3 AFTER CLONING

CLONING SOFTWARE (WINDOWS)
