Also remember the famous Muse Receptor, that went away too. I think each approach have pros and cons. VSTs are amazing but is not the same to have a dedicated hardware musical instrument. At the end of the day, it's all about ones needs, budget and personal taste. There is no "better" choice than the other, and there is no "One Device/Instrument Do it All". Lot of us use both VST's and hardware, that should be ideal. |

Nob and i don't want it. To Many moving parts. I think korg themselves should add my engines not 3rd parties. Odyssey would be nice _________________ Making beats is not a hobby it's a life style

At the speed of the ever rising high software technology what could probably be coming is a Kronos VSTi or even a cloud Kronos. Way way up !!! 🌞 _________________ trees are going fast.

That’s it: the ”Kronos V”. You know where you heard it first. |

If Korg doesn’t do it, eventually someone else will... |
as you know, open labs failed at it.
bottom line, its all about the $$$.
these co' s don't operate from ''try as you go '' on a new product. |
The person who started Open Labs, Victor Wong, tried that again with another company, Music Computing. Although that company still seems to be around, they don't appear to be making NEKO type instruments anymore.
Since we're all talking about unicorns, they sky's the limit. Maybe the next gen Kronos can have a sophisticated but easy to use, interface to a device running VSTs. Of course it would have to have MIDI 2.0, plenty of connectors with the latest USB technology, legacy MIDI, and MIDI Polyphonic Expression capable keyboard. Anything is possible in fantasy land. Hey, I can dream, can't I? |
