|
|
Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone on here had ever taken the time to convert any of the myriad commerical Roland d50 soundbanks from back in the day to Kronos format? I already found the original bank via Youtube, and I've seen some high-priced options (for the original bank plus some extras, as far as I can see) on Ebay, but would be really interested to find out if there are any more banks/ converted sounds out there somewhere. |

You've probably found the following link, but will include it just in case.
It says they're the original banks plus "extra ones"....??

Yes, that's the one I know about, but thanks for posting it. Looking for other sounds apart from those in the video (the guy did a great job btw), anyone got any other leads? |

Wow, nice job Irish Acts. Just listened to the demo. The DigitalNative patch takes me back to the first time I heard it in the music store. I had a crush on that patch.

Still can't log on to the Irish Acts website, keep getting an error message, tried with multiple laptops and IOS
Anyone know of any other sources for Kronosified D50 sounds, preferably some of the many commercial soundbanks that were created? |

According to the blurb on this package on the Irishacts website, a Kronos edition is included with the purchase of this item. Might be worth giving Sharp another nudge.

I recall downloading a bunch of one shots from the "digital" part of the D50 - and had a blast creating wavesequences from them. I think it was only 1 gig. I'll have to root around, but the were free and the person who posted wasn't selling them. Bear w/ me. The D50 grafted these one shots onto more traditional oscillators to form most of the basic string/horn/bellish tones... _________________ Korg Karma module, Kronos61, SEQUENTIAL PRO3, DSI OB6, Oberheim OB8, XStation25, Yamaha MFC (for Karma Pads), Omnisphere, guitars by Tom Anderson, Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, D'Angelico, Parker, Line6, Guitar Processors by Fractal Audio, Amplification by Mesa, Carvin, w/Celestion V30(!) |

So I found it in my download folder, it was posted in a thread called "Free sounds for Kronos" or something similar by a generous user named Stoeffel or Stoessel (sorry, I can't do any searches right now to verify anything) and was 3.9MB, a ZIP file entitled "Roland D-50 Waves.zip".
It unzips to a KSC file, of which there are 101 KMPs, each with a corresponding folder that holds a KSF.
I loaded the master KSC and used the one shots in wavesequences. Highly addictive and fun.
BTW, the latest version of Omnisphere does an admirable job at reconstituting a pretty extensive library of D50 patches, they sound damn good as Persing and Co. put out the highest quality soundware. _________________ Korg Karma module, Kronos61, SEQUENTIAL PRO3, DSI OB6, Oberheim OB8, XStation25, Yamaha MFC (for Karma Pads), Omnisphere, guitars by Tom Anderson, Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, D'Angelico, Parker, Line6, Guitar Processors by Fractal Audio, Amplification by Mesa, Carvin, w/Celestion V30(!) |
