Hello,

Even though I'm using Kronos for years, I'm not fully comfortable with sampling inside the Kronos.

I know how to use sampling with multisample by keyboard zones. But how to create multisamples by velocity layers too ?

Thanks

Hi there,

It's basically the same. You create a multisample set for let's say p or soft, then another for f or loud, then others for in between and/or for pp and ff, etc. Once all is recorded, you create a new program and assign those multisample sets in HD-1 mode in your program (OSC-1 Basic and OSC-2 Basic tabs) and you decide at which velocity they should switch or overlap, etc.

The difficult part remains the same : to create nice sounding multisamples (and nice sounding long/short loops if needed).

Yes KK, of course I know what's about HD-1 velocity layers. But it was not my point here.

So, if I've well understood what you say, it is impossible to get multi velocity layers in a single Multisamples ? Is it right ?

Correct, no velocity parameter in Korg multisample (.kmp) file info.

A .ksf file is a single sample. It has parameters like the name of the sample, the sample start point, the loop start point, and the frequency when it was sampled.

A .kmp has parameters related to multiple samples. It has info about pan, filter, envelope, drive, EQ, level, tune, and the original key assigned when it was sampled. No parameter related to velocity.
