I have recently purchased a korg i3 and can not edit styles.

I can record song etc but when it comes to editing styles, the rec/write does not seem to function. It is as if the style is protected.

Any information will be welcome.

Kind regards Tony

Hi Tony

It has been many years since I owned the fabulous i3.

I hope I can help but please, firstly, let me know if you have the i3 reference guide manual?

Cheers

Pete Very Happy

Hi Pete thanks for your reply. Yes I have the reference manual and I found the answer too. In the global settings the styles where protected.

It's a real pity that Korg don't do tutorial videos for this but I guess the I3 is too old. I'm just rubbish at reading manuals. I've been looking at mine for hours before I found the answer

Hi Tony

That is great news.

I was playing at a big charity gig about 18 months ago and one of the acts was a husband and wife duo - wife singer, husband keyboards and backing singer.
Their set up was very flashy and professional and they were very good - the keyboard sounds were absolutely outstanding. I had to go up on stage and check out his gear - yes Korg i3!!!
He said he tries to buy them whenever to make sure he can always perform - their sound was brilliant.

Enjoy your i3 - I miss mine - that Backing Sequencer was superb - never included after the i30 Sad

I have many styles for it if you are interested and you have some diskettes - let me know.

I actually found my i2/i3 VHS Tutorial recently that came with my keyboard in 1993. It's in excellent shape. I copied it to DVD today and have an MP4.

Wondering if there is a place I can upload for anyone to view? I can only upload 15 minutes on my YouTube account, it is 53:00 long. It's about 350Mg. The video runs though every function of the keyboard and instructor is very knowledgeable, he really flies around on it with all the short-cuts.

Happy to share if anyone has suggestions.

I just got my i3 back from a friend as I actually gave it away 4 years ago in good condition. They didn't have time to figure it out and brought it back! I'm happy to have it and it still works great. I was glad to have the review of the tutorial, lots of stuff I never used before.

Thanks

Good stuff, guys. Is there any similar vid. on i30? I never did get to grips with BSeq. I'm on a 3X these days, but still have my pristine i30. There's a few things I still like on it - key feel, individual channel mute buttons, and a general 'brightness' about the sound. oh, and it still looks so 'pro'.
