Hello, I just started recording w my new focusrite 18i8. I'm not familiar with either cubase or the 18i8 yet. But I have the Kronos' L/R connected to my focusrite's Line inputs (7 & eight) through 2 TRS cables.

There are two scenarios.

First, when I connected my headphones to the 18i8, the sound quality is nowhere near as good as when I'm listening through my headphones when I directly connected it to my kronos (via the kronos' headphone output port.

Second, the sound quality got worse when I recorded the audio in cubase. It just sounds horrible.

I need some guidance on this. I figured I might be doing it with the wrong settings. Is there any way for me to record and listen to my playbacks without the loss of sound quality through the 18i8 and recording w cubase 10.5?

Hello,
I know absolutely nothing about Cubase. But nevertheless you could take a look at the monitor parameters of the focusrite and even also at those of Cubase

Did you try the digital connection: Kronos “optical out” into 18i8 “optical” in? Only “restriction’ is that this option works at 48 kHz only.
