|
|
I’ve seen via google-search a few times where its been said Triton Extreme’s ccfl back-light tube is 100 mm x 2.0 mm, but then they will give a part number that reflects 3.0 mm width (BF3100-20B). Very confusing. 2.0 mm vs 3.0 mm require different power requirements. I’m tending to believe it’s 2.0 mm. Anyone? Thank you! |

I have the TEx Service Manual, but we aren’t supposed to post those here. _________________ ** KORG Product Support Contacts **

OK, noted.
The Service Manual doesn't give the part number for the CCFL tube itself, only the part number for the connector is given there.
It might be worth removnig the tube and measuring the actual diameter. The tube operating voltage is largely a function of length, rather than diameter. The operating current for a 2mm dia 100mm long tube, from the link below, is given as 6mA, whilst the 3mm dia JKL part BF3100-20B is specified as 5mA.
These people might be a useful source.

There is this clickable note in the TEX service manual:
"Backlight Voltage is AC 860V pk-pk @ 42KHz or 292volts RMS Measured via an oscilloscope. A digital meter will measure much lower due to loading and the limited bandwidth of the meter." _________________ bpoodoo

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Thank you, MartinHines. Too bad to replace the tube, it's like 1,000,000 screws and parts to get to the last thing on the menu, the screen! I'm going to shine a light at an angle for awhile to see what I'm doing, but the bulb must be replaced at some point. I'm dreading the thought! It could be the inverter or something else, but I'm more convinced it's the tube. I found a good website called CCFL Warehouse which has high quality lamps and quite the selection, if you need!
