What is the latest OS for Korg PA 1000? I have 1.50 but heard there is a new one. If there is, where do I get it from, please? Are there any substantial changes? |

1.5 is the latest ... I personally would love to see a new one that would fix the problem of my Pa1000 locking up on me. _________________ t. : ) |

I could not figure out how to just put sounds directly from the USB or doing copy/save from keyboard to the Factory or Direct sections which were greyed-out to prevent any load/copy/save new sounds even though the Factory protect box was unchecked . Only User section will accept the copy/save or load new sounds . I do not have any problems with styles...only sounds. Thanks _________________ N/A |

That is because user sounds (.PCG) mostly are linked to user multisamples (.KMP) and these in turn are linked to samples (.PCM) in internal memory.
Kmp and pcm are only reliably stored in the internal memory by a system routine, by single LOAD of user sounds.
*
You can copy your edited sound creations (file type .pcg) into USER area (user01.pcg ... user04.pcg) in case you only used factory multisamples (with no user samples) for your creations. Such user sounds can also be copied to the factory area if factory protect is deactivated.
However, this does not work as soon as individual multisamples and samples are used for the user sounds. That is because for such sounds the internal memory first must be filled with these multisamples and samples. Multisamples and samples cannot simply be copied into the internal memory, this is only possible via system operations (the operating system).
System will load all samples and multisamples that are used for every single sound you LOAD without doublicating common resources (so do not try to copy) !
How to deal with sounds containing user samples is poorly described in the Manuals, so I believe that most errors already happen by the fact that user sounds are not saved together with the corresponding multisamples and PCMs for a later reuse.
