Am trying to install my M1 vst on macbook, OS Big Sur.

Keep getting warning: "you are using incompatible units";
Once I get in to Logic, I get: "M1 Authorizer quit unexpectedly";
In the plugin manager, it says "Failed Validation";

And, how am I supposed to find my "locking code"?

The latest version in my korguser.net account is v. 1.3.1 (updated in 2013?), and there is no option to get the latest version.

There is NO link for customer support on korguser.net...

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I can not get my plugin to work effectively and your website sends me in circles trying to get it validated again... "enter locking code", yet you provide no valid instructions on getting it.

How do I get my paid version of M1 VST working on my mac, which is running the Big Sur OS?

I have a different view to you. I purchased my KLC in 2005 and have free updates ever since, including latest installers that supported HDPI monitors and later OS - all free of charge. Not bad for something I purchased 17 years ago and do not pay a maintenance subscription like so much software these days

However, the thing you may have missed (despite the mail out - have you changed email addresses, or did it go to spam?) is that Korg migrated away from that site in around 2017 and required you to re-register on https://id.korg.com/users/sign_up

There was a mass mail out to advise you of the move, and in registering via https://www.korguser.net/asp/coupon.asp you got a migration coupon that allowed you access to the latest installers for your legacy products.

I am not sure if that migration process is still working, but 5 years on the migration page is still showing me my migration coupons, so have you tried logging on and running the migration process?

And there is a support link on korgusernet or at least the page I am looking at: https://www.korguser.net/

It is under the cunningly hidden USER SUPPORT AND CONTACTING KORG section towards the bottom right of the page Wink

Also if you google "Korg Support" you will get a list of Korg distributors where you can find your nearest distributor to direct support requests to

BTW this is a community forum and not an official Korg forum so directing your ire here is not really going to help, and it puts a lot of people off from responding.

I have a similar problem (with the M1 plug-in, not with KORG customer service - in my opinion they do a great job).

The details:
Own M1 (KLC)
Upgraded my iMac 5k (late 2014) to macOS Big Sur (11.7.7)
Opened Apple MainStage
Upon launch the app tells me "Incompatible Audio Unit(s)"
Checked the plug-in manager
Get the message "Validation unsucessful" for M1
Checked the version number of the AU plug-in: 1.3.1
Downloaded version 1.7.x
Started the installer
Installer upgrades only the VST plug-in to 1.7.x, but not the AU

What else could I try?

Thanks so much for your help!

Here's the error message the plug-in manager gave out:

ERROR: Parameter values are different since last set - probable cause: a Meta Param Flag is NOT set on a parameter that will change values of other parameters.

* * FAIL

AU VALIDATION FAILED: CORRECT THE ERRORS ABOVE.

Problem solved - thanks to the KORG support.

You have to download the KORG Software Pass app to get the latest version (in my case 2.4.x). Then register your product and confirm registration in your DAW.

Worked for me with Apple MainStage. Finally, my M1 is back! Very Happy
