About a week ago I got my new PA5X and I tried to find out different
things .
When starting the PA5X you have the drawbars working as volumesliders
for all the accompanimentparts .
After pushing one button the sliders work as volumesliders for the Upper
parts ( 1,2 and 3 ) and the Lowerpart and for the pads 1,2,3 and 4.
This is very good and easy !
Playing the Presetstyles is no problem .
Loading the Userstyles which I had from my PA4X took some minutes but
they work fine .
Because I coud not load the usersounds from my PA4X I had to find
a solution for the open spaces ( accompanimenttracks with no sound ) .
This was no problem at all ,I took sounds that were in my PA5X .
Using the settings is OK and making my own new settings goes without
problems .
I did succeed in making some pads by destillation them from accompaniment
tracks .
Now I have made some pads with a sound I could take from the preset-
sounds , the legacy and the GM sounds .
Everything works fine .
Of course I have to get used to some items which are different compared
to my PA4X .
The Matrix works fine , I could change the pads in the Matrix with my
own choice .
I like the Matrix .
Playing 2 Styles together brings us endless new possibilities .
You can choose a second style that makes a good combination with
the first style .
To try out you could make a second style as variation of the first with
different sounds . I mean the same style but after editing at some
points .
I like the the sounds of my PA5X and I am a happy player .
There is more to find out but that is part of the fun . |

I am not a Korg employee .
I am just an Arrangerplayer with lots of experience and everything
I wrote is true .
Of course I have some wishes but I expect that Korg will come with
some updates in the near future .
Fact is that I have the PA5X and I am not writing just after reading
the manual .
But it is important that you read your manual good when you have
your PA5X . |

MIDI to Style is NOT currently available on the 5X. We all hope this will be coming with new versions of the OS as it was available in the 4X. But as of now it is not a feature of the Pa5X _________________ Dave Kalbach

What a strange question , "are you a Korg employee ? " .
Because I like my new PA5X and I can do already many things
with my instrument you ask me "are you a Korg employee ? ".
My positive comment is based on the fact that I have the PA5X
and my message is not only based on the manual . |

It should be good if comments on the PA5X only are written by musicians,
amateurs or pro , when they have the PA5X in their homes .
Too many negative messages have nothing to do with reality . |

Unfortunately there are negative comments for very good reason at the moment, but my advice would be to debate and discuss anything that is bothering you from those who you assume do not fit your category and criteria or..... just ignore them...
After all that is what forums are about and of course providing it is done in a polite and constructive manner then all voices should be alowed to express freely...

There is not much really there yet, and Yes I have the Pa5x and PA4X and had all the Pa series since 2000!
At this moment no negativity only Fact!
Hopefully we will have an update!
Like now the most important things are missing.
Yes there is some
Styles to play with, some great sounds but for now it’s not much. _________________ www.globalsound.se

Do you believe your comments become reality because based on the fact that you own a Pa5x?

It's nice for you that you are a happy player with your Pa5x.
Of course, there is still a lot more to discover than the few fundamental features you mentioned that you have already found.
With a professional arranger equipped with extensive functions, within a week it is enough to touch only the top layer of the properties, so that one can speak of neither a serious nor an extensive test anyway.
Wibo43 wrote: | .. There is more to find out .. |
This is hardly possible as long as there is not even a reference manual for the Pa5x, with which one can at least determine more reliably than with the performance manual whether and which features the Pa5x includes and which were left out compared to the predecessor.

Do not think that you are the only arranger player with a lot of experience. The fact that you already own a Pa5x doesn't give you the privilege of judging when it is criticized that important features are missing that are neither listed nor described in any way in the inadequate performance manual.
You think that it is important to read a manual when you have your Pa5x? I think it is much more important that a detailed reference manual from Korg is finally presented so that one can inform oneself in detail before buying a Pa5x.
Maybe Korg isn't even able to publish a reference manual, because most of the functions - apart from the most basic basics - are obviously not even programmed out or organized appropriately programmatically. For this reason, a detailed description does not seem to be possible at all!
Wibo43 wrote: | .. I have some wishes but I expect that Korg will come with some updates in the near future.. |
At the moment I think it is not even clear with certainty which functioning features the Pa5x intends to deliver - and as a Pa5x owner I wouldn't be particularly happy about that. _________________ kind regards

WIBO I can send you a file, TRY to make a sound from that file, And show me your WORKSTATION SKILLS?
It,s a sound that you must truncate and Normalise, than Layer all the sounds in the exact way so they sound Superb, than add FX EQ and more to it, And Use that sound in Style Creator, DEAL??? Be realistic, there is keyboards for 700 euros that can do more at the moment.!
This is not a competition, try to focus on what you payed for and what you got in your hands for now. If you just like to use a Sounds from it with a style, YES that is ok, If you are diggin in it than NO! NOT YET!

I see a very strange situation , because I am positive about my PA5X ,
I am attacked by other members that do not like somebody is positive .
It is a sign of the time and therefore it is better that I become only a
reader and not a writer for the next period .
When I compare the situation of today with the Genos I see there that
the players who were the most negative about the Genos now are the
most positive members .
That will happen with the PA5X the same way , it is a matter of time .
I hope that many of you will reach the turning point soon .
But for now I go into the background . |
